Autism comes in many many forms.
Each condition is basically a compilation of various symptoms, and a person with one condition can have varying degrees of each symptom in that condition.
It's not like "I have Swine Flu".
It's much more intricate and complicated than that. It's just simply not a matter of "I'm antisocial" or "I can't spell".
Being autistic could mean you have a few autistic symptoms on a mild level, or you could have ALL the symptoms of Asbergers (or any other "disorder") to a large extent.

I hope you guys know that not all autism is the same. I know a guy who has a rare form of autism that actually affected his brain in a way that gave him better eye sight. He can actually see almost perfectly in the dark, just like cats. It also affected his hearing a little, so his hearing is almost as good as a bat's! To sum it all up, not all autism degrades one's ability to interact in a social environment.

Well, now that I think about it, isn't an Autistic NG User and an 11 year old NG User kind of the same thing?

Yeah I can see how super-human sight and hearing can help someone in a social environment.

I never said it would help, I just said it doesn't hurt their social interactivity. Besides, how would it make their social life worse?

probably not, because they only have autistic symptom in real life (i.e. talking to a stranger, etc.), not on the internet

I mean an autistic kid would probably have difficulty spelling things

actually I read somewhere that most autustic kids are near geniuses

would show very little social skills

like I said, they would only show that in real life, not on the internet

would probably be surprised by normal social interactions (like kissing a girl) and might fail to draw the line between fantasy and reality.

yes, in real life

But I observe this same behavior in most of the NG BBS anyways so...

same here

Actually, most autistic kids fall into the retarded range. Even those considered "geniuses" are actually "idiot savants", which basically means they have an incredible talent like playing piano or painting a scene they saw once a decade ago, but they can't wipe their own ass. That's the diagnostic difference between autism and asperger's: people with Asperger's have an average to high intelligence. In fact, a lot of people in the psychology field believe that there shouldn't be a diagnostic difference, but rather that Asperger's is HFA (High Functioning Autism).

nice then... let's start a club :P

i was in newgrounds for 3 years, active 1 year... i think newgrounds is the only website that knows that i have autism (since now :P)

i used to bring As only in maths, spelling, chemical formulas...etc..

if some of you are concerned about that autistic people are extremely smart while others say that they are dumb, i'll tell u my experience: ... i've memorized the periodic table and i am able to draw the whole periodic table without seeing it plus i am sometimes referred as the guy who swallowed the calculator however, i don't know shit about literature, society or even how show my emotions or express my feelings!!!! srsly

Sure you can. They put it in their sig like I do. Read on.

I mean an autistic kid would probably have difficulty spelling things,

I can spell just fine, thank you.

would show very little social skills,

Five years of therapy, dedicated parents, and general life experience have reversed that.

would probably be surprised by normal social interactions (like kissing a girl)

Why would that be surprising?

and might fail to draw the line between fantasy and reality.

Name one case of this directly attributed to autism, and I'll let it go. Just because I have an overactive imagination (which I consider one of my better traits) doesn't mean I can't discern the real world.

So long story short, the entire basis of this question is one giant stereotype. And I'm kind of pissed.

Take another look at that account's name, Dawnslayer. Do you know who the Star Syndicate are/were? Do you know what they were known for? Spammers, trolls, typical spam group rap sheet, plus a few "innovations" now regularly copied by wannabes, such as large-scale account hacking and constant intentional misspellings and poor grammar. The fact that you let it anger you simply means you're ignorant of the Stars' "achievements" in the spam field.

As far as the topic goes, f0d (or is it someone else behind the account this time?), if you're going to troll, at least get the necessary information on your target. Look at the Autism Club, pick out their quirks and go after the similarities between their peculiarities and those of the general NG populace. Or are you just reverse trolling for guys like me who think they know trolling when you've been doing it for far longer?

Speaking of that sort of thing, there's something: like an average Newgrounds user, many autistic/Asperger's people have trouble understanding the joke. Take a look at the reviews and score for the hated yet throughly enjoyable Metal Gear Funnies (as I know you already have), and compare the ideas in them to my early anti-spam BS. Same with the Brawl Funnies collabs. Like me (diagnosed with Asperger's in summer 2002), NG users don't get the joke. I'm sure you can find others
