I find it boring and lame, but I don't hate it.

Really cause people wanna hop on the bandwagon. "Shitty Graphics" is a now useless shitty insult. The Graphics are crazy Good now. Really some group of people decided to tell people about it, forget about all the good things about the game. and made people hat it. really I just find this annoying and try to ignore it.

Same here. At one point the graphics were shit, but with the complete overhaul they are amazing, looks almost like WoW. Theyve done so many updates that its a great game now, and the mod team often asks RS players in the forums what they want in an update, beside the occasional poll. Really, its great that the mods have listened to the public more and are pumping out more updates still. Hell, they just released a toy shop that lets you design your own minigame. (races, scavenger hunts, etc)

Its really cool now.

At my school, basically everyone plays. And not geeks, like, a lot of football players are obsessed with it.
I guess I go to a sort of geeky school, though...

The graphics are so much better than they used to be. Most people that hate it haven't played since the audial and graphical overhaul. They seriously should try it out.

It's boring.

The "nazi" crap people are talking about probably refers to the following.

They completely destroyed the trade system. You cannot give items to other players, they have to be within a certain amount of value on both sides, and even at high levels, you can only have a difference in trade value of like 15k per hour. The grand exchange is another problem, since there is no longer any way to barter with other players, which many people found enjoyable.
Also, you can't say anything remotely resembling a cuss word without it being starred out. (Except bullass. For some reason, both bull and ass are both censored, but bullass isn't.)
Also, PvP is almost completely destroyed, since, to my knowledge, there is no longer any way to non-consensually kill someone and take all their stuff. You can only fight through duels or minigames, which are rather boring.

Really, those are the things that made me quit, probably permanently. After they upgraded the graphics, they started destroying everything I actually liked about the game.

Oh yeah, they made it difficult to do some things by making them non-static (to discourage bots).

Basically, the problem is that they tried to crack down on botters and scammers so much, they made it bad for the people who don't cheat.

Runescape is the best game on the internet.

Making The Wilderness a Non-PvP Area was retarded. I demand they put it back up there. Seriously no one go's to the Wildie anymore.

There are soo many games better than that garbage!

The only reason I quit was because of the people on it and how you have to constantly work for money you my understand when you get to lv 90. But I still had a good time.

I "liked" the game back in 07, but then I didn't play any PC games at all...
There are flaws, but the worst would be the grinding(obvious) and their magic system(below).

The magic system is tedious and stupid. Fist for the grinding for the next level, but then for having to use runes, that are not only costly, take up a good half hour- 2 hours to collect if your cheep. Many other game have an effective system that uses mana.

This is an okay game, I play it so every often because, I am a achievement/winning whore, so I can complete every free quest(dragon slayer) by grinding.

I played it for 3 years, it's nothing but an addiction.

I hate it because my account was hacked after i'd worked on it for years with my friends and gotten so far. All those hours of doing the same boring thing over and over just to get it stolen and i don't know how. Stupid Runescape, i blame the creators

Runescape really does have a shitty report system, people are so trigger happy with it that if you say one thing even a character off from a curse word, it gets censored and a bunch of reporter noobs go up to you and say: Reported nub you're going to teh rs jail lulz lulz lulz. It really is retarded, Jagex really needs to clean up their dumbass UK censorship and only allow certified people to report with actual intelligence. A good example of this is when i was playing, I was at castle wars and i said said this game really is getting gray as in boring and Jagex like the dumbfucks they are mistook it for gay and a noob next to me reported me.

I played Runescape for two years, me and three of my friends. Of course, at the time, I was a lazy ass, so I didn't really work hard for anything in the game, and if I did, I always had help. I lost interest in Runescape when I found the grinding to be repetitive, and the large number of skills made it so that you needed to train every skill in order to do the quests. The combat system was dull and un-interesting, the casting system was horrible, and the fact that in many of the MEMBERS ONLY *shing!* mini-games there was no level-limit, you would either be killing a level 40 character or getting killed by a level 120 character. Plus the fact that the society was horrible, and the players were either un-friendly or beggars. My friend was reported, and suspended, for saying "sssss" and their horrible language filter starred it out.

I tried it. After about an hour and a half of sitting through the shitty graphics, boring gameplay (especially the fighting) and the awful community (PLZ GIMME 1000 GOLD 4 MY ARMOR), I gave up.
Horrible game.

I used to play it. Up until about 3 years ago, in fact. The graphics are terrible, they make sure to remind you every few minutes how much better your life would be if you payed to be one of those member things, and theres no point to it. Like many mmorpgs, you kill stuff, buy stuff, get new stuff to kill stuff, and kill bigger and harder stuff. repeat cycle.

I, like many people on here, have played runescape at one time in my life. It was a fun game while it lasted, but looking back it's not that great. The graphics are really bad, even with the graphic update, gameplay is stale, all you do is click on a monster and watch it die, and above all the game takes no skill what so ever. Leveling up in any skill takes time not skill or strategy, hence why lots of younger kids play it. Not only that but to really have any fun with the game you have to pay.
