No. Vista is great. It's more than twice as fast as Windows XP. The only major downside is that when you do something of more than 10% importance then it asks you if you have administrative permission to continue... when you're the administrator. That's the only thing that made me go, "wtf."

Other than that. It's a good OS, but I still prefer XP, but not by much. XP is a great system that didn't ask you for permission to do something every hour or so, but Vista did. It's the same as XP getting 100% and Vista getting 99%. It's so insignifigant of a difference.

Also, newsflash to all you haters out there. If you've never tried Vista, stop spreading around lies. It isn't a terrible operating system like it was when it first came out. Everything has its kinks and flaws when it is first released, but it shouldn't go down in history for those things after it fixes them. So go out and try a version of Vista that is updated. Think of it as Windows XP v2.0.

There are ways to set up Vista so it's better and can compare to things like XP...but really, get Linux.

Vista definitely sucks. I've been an XP person, but can't wait to try and see what 7 has to offer.

And you notice this now? I realized that vista is fucked up when it came out and installed it the first time, but still, some people don't have a choice but to stick with it because of no better other OS's. Fucking microsoft..

Mine runs absolutely fine and I've never had a problem with it, I don't get what the fuss is.

I'll still install Windows 7 over it though.

My dad had vista he couldnt install any webcam (even for vista)
and vista is filled with bugs

My bro has on his laptop Vista and here are some problems:
1.It allways asks:"Are you sure you want to open this?" "Do you allow this application to go to the internet?" "Are you sure Vista sucks?"
2.I tryed to install daemon tools and it got a fatal error, blue screen and the laptop almost broke...what about that?Vista + Daemon tools = blue screen = death
3.It can't get the IPX/SPX protocol for older games AKA Red Alert 2 Yuris Revenge, it's a good, classic game
4.Althrough it has 2.00GHz and lots more, it can't play Half Life 2 due to Vista, and my old, bad computer can :O
5.It moves like crap on some games
6.Some programs like my printer and other hardware or simple applications can't be supported on Vista :(

Ok, let me explain. Vista has decided that my copy is not "Genuine" and decided to give me the finger and go into reduced mode. I can't fucking get out of it, so i decided to get another OS and the first thing that came to mind was Linux. Now, can we please stop this "Fanboy" war and just go on with NG? Or you can keep flaming. Either way, lulz.

XP is waaaaay better than Vista, it is simple and vista has a hell lot of memory just for the windows!

well, thats why I switched to a mac...
if microsoft just went back a couple of years and started selling xp again nothing would be wrong anymore... however, they went all "vista is not bad" and propaganda with it (the guy from the store my parents bought their computer said all bugs where fixed out of vista, turned out the video card in the pc was DX10 compatible, but not vista...)
windows 7 wont be better, switch to linux and to mac, if only half the windows users switches, microsoft might be making better products again.
it will only be a matter of time till they will realize that

Because clicking "Yes" when it asks you to install and download a codec for you is so damn hard.
Use Ubuntu as a distro if you've never tried Linux before.
