In terms of timing, I think that the judges don't have any responsibility to turn the results out within a month, since that was the time allotted to the writers to submit their entries. You could even say that the judges have been waiting a month themselves for the writers to do their jobs so they could do theirs.

This is my current situation: Besides other whiny emotional crap (which not a person here would care about), I'm currently waiting for my A-Level results. If it goes fine, then I'll likely be away for a week (Sheffield) which I'll likely try to judge away. If I can grab a phone number of someone to pass the details on, then as soon as they're done then...Who ever is running this contest (forgot who) will know my rating as soon as possible. Otherwise, I'll submit when I get back. Assuming I don't manage to do it on the holidays, I'll very likely have it done before the end of the month.

If the results don't go fine, then I'll be here. Which then it's a coin-flip if I'll be able to finish judging before the end of the month. I'll be caught up rearranging my education situation.

It's fine, it's cool waiting. Also, dw Lost. IRL is a pain.

Though if anyone wants me to take over thier position...lol

Don't judge yourself to death.
Get whats important done first.

If you finish before next week PM them to me, but Banking and I are planning on finishing this weekend, so I'll be able to release. I don't think Zerok will be able to finish either. It happens.

It's very hard to set deadlines for yourself when doing stuff for free so we don't or shouldn't have any expectations for you. I've learned that the hard way through flash. No apologies are necessary.

No no, AFTER Culture Shock

A few more days and I'll have to count this as a college paper

You guys have been great so thank you for really giving us the time to properly judge this contest. It has taken awhile because of the nature of the contest. I read all the stories once through, listened to the sound clip, and then re-read all the stories so that I can give them a total score. I have one story left to finish and then I will turn in my scores to gumonshoe.

I will be happy to provide my scores and feedback for anyone who is interested. Please don't be shy to pm me or to respond to this post if you want feedback. There were so many stories for this contest that had great potential. In most cases, just some slight changes would really sharpen the writing so that each of you can reach your full potential as a writer.

In the future, if anyone wants me to look at their story ahead of time and give some comments, I would be more than happy to do so. A lot of the mistakes I saw in this contest were due to mechanical errors in spelling and/or grammar.

I will send gum my scores tonight so that hopefully the contest results will be up tonight or tomorrow. Thanks everyone and good luck!

There was no point in rushing, it would of meant that some writer work was hastily read through.

Please do take me up on the offer. I think even when you have just another pair of eyes to check for spelling, grammar, tense, and phrasing changes, you are much more likely to avoid those common mistakes.
