It's only a test, but silver looks so good on him...
After my last comment (Which I must admit, I'm regretting a bit for it.) I remembered there were actually transformers with facial hair in Transformers 2010. And that linked with another idea.
If you know any easy way to change color I'd like you to try purple/violet instead of silver as main color, that way and adding some crown-like spikes to the head you could turn Megatron into...

hehe I love what galvatron turned into, which is kinda what Im making megs turn into, but I cant stand galvatron himself or his purple colors haha. not to mention that his fushion cannon looked like an uncircumcised penis.

If you really like drawing bots and guns so much, you should check out the industrial design of the week on Conceptart http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdi splay.php?f=85

Just like the Prime thread back when, this is excellent. You never fail to bring me fapping material.

After this, how about throwing together a tutorial on how to draw robots? :3
My whole life I wanted to draw my robot cartoon characters and couldn't. :(

Apologies for double posting, but I just can't believe this.
I always thought that Megatron transforming into a gun was humiliating. He's supposed to be the leader of the Decepticons, and he's reduced to a tool for Starscream.

then again, he also transforms into both a cannon and a tank.

In the new movie he transforms into a tank, which is cool at first, but then he flies off, and that just looked stupid. The whole big deal between autobots and decepticons is that the deceps, can fly. So he should fly in robot mode, so the only real reason he would want to turn into , anything, is for pure devastation. No better way to channel that power than to focus one full blast as a giant turret cannon.

if you seen the second movie, Mixmaster triple changes into a stationary turret for a bigger blast. Megatron should be doing that, not a third rate decepticon.

Is it me or is his foot REALLY large?
I know it's closer to your perspective but it's bigger then it's body...

But else it wouldn't fit in the transformation, i dunno.

You know... Bumblebee/Cliffjumper, Ratchet/Ironhide, Starscream/Thundercracker/Skywarp...
It's sort of a tradition...

not to mention that his fushion cannon looked like an uncircumcised penis.

Objection!
If you look closer at the design, you'll find it looks perfectly circumcised!

Looks like Primus is not the only cybertronic deity who likes to brag about his virility...

Saw you got rid of the face on the artillery.

Now you might want to do something about this shocked looking little guy.

Doesn't look to happy to be part of his chest.

You might want to add a few touches of a redish brown with a low opacity paintbrush to give the impression of rust too, and yeah, there's a lot of faces hidden in that sketch, uff...

lol damnit Im working on that :-p hey at least you know Im trying to make sure it works when it transforms haha.

ok progress has been super slow. basically because Ive been busy.

But someone mentioned they didn't like the Idea that the movie Megatron was one color.
Honestly thats the one thing I thought looked cool. It was like he was still in has primer paint job.

But Then I started thinking about the color of his chest in G1 as well as his gun and feet. So I think I came up with a cool solution. He will still be one color, but be semi iridescent. Very similar to Robocop, who was one color but had hues of green and blue , and even purple. As for the cannon being back. It is, but its years of destroying autobots. Its basically black from laser burns .

Looks great as usual!

I'd just like to say to LordAdon that while he does have a point (there are some people that suck-up to mods and whatnot), it just so happens that the mods on the art forum are really good artists too. While you criticize other people for judging them differently because they are mods, you seem to be the only one who can't look past their mod status and judge their art for what it is. Take a look at Mindchamber's Optimus Prime thread for instance. You can't honestly say that that is not a solid piece of artwork.

I'm curious to see how this iridescent look is going to turn out.

Also he isn't optimus primal, or nemesis prime.

hmm, well hopefully once I color it and maybe fade out the back leg a bit, it wont look as bad.

no he was spoofing the fact that one of the seekers in the movie was a Model T.

steel hearts designs were great though.

I'm going to have to agree with Jarvid on the foot. It does seem a bit big.

Also, in the current rough sketch, the iridescence looks more like some sort of orange backlighting, like an explosion going off behind him. But I'm sure this will be fixed in phases to come.
