Deciding to creat a new Rig

Well i am going back into my computer so i can rebuild it for the gaming station now. These are the items i am looking into for my computer;

Corsair Dual Channel DDR2 800Mhz (2x2048) -Ram-
XION Power Real 800W ATX Power Supply
AMD Phenom X4 9600 Quad Core. 2.30GHz and 4mb L2+L3 Cache
XFX GeForce 9600 GSO Video Card - 768MB DDR2, PCI Express 2.0, Dual Link DVI, SLI Ready

It all banks out to $310 included tax and what not. My question is, is this all well worth the price and good for a gaming PC? Any other ideas to change or lower the price, please fill me in. Thanks.

So what is your budget? That actually isn't too bad for a 300$ computer except for one glaring problem.

Your PSU. I wouldn't touch that brand with a 12 foot pole. Pick a more reliable brand like corsair, seasonic, antec, etc.

And honestly your computer probably won't be powerful enough for modern gaming. I suggest you save up 600 bucks to make a good gaming machine. 9600Gt and AMD phenom X4 isn't too great nowadays.

That setup is a very good one. I question whether or not your motherboard can handle that, though.

What you should do i just buy a new pc but it depends how old yours is. You really don't want to upgrade an old computer because if it breaks then you have 400 dollars worth of stuff for it but no computer to use it with.

Sounds like a beefy gaming computer. Let's see I play Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 on the following specs:

2.80 GHz Intel processor
1GB DDR400 SDRAM
Nvidia Geforce 5200 FX 128 MB graphics card
40MB Hard Drive
Kubuntu Operating System.

I'm lucky that I can even play those games, but I can.
