Actually no. If you spent your whole working to achieve a goal, and when you finally get that goal, wouldn't it be much more rewarding than you just winning the lottery or something and now you get that goal done, even though you never were going for it?

I'm not saying us achievement whores spend our whole lives doing something, but when I got my first 1000/1000 on CoD 4, I felt really good for about a week. Its the feeling of accomplishing something, plus you get bragging rights. If you love a sport, wouldn't you want to win a trophy in it? You wouldn't feel bad that you practiced every day and in the end all your reward is a trophy, that's meaningless. Because it isnt meaningless you spent time and effort to get it.

You just are either just too lazy to get achievements, don't care about bragging the rights or the feeling of accomplishment, etc. or your just bad at games. For most people its the second choice.

No one wants to watch you deflect 50 attacks in an online match, we'd rather see an actual fight.

Yeah but you have to do that to get the full 1000/1000. And when someone sees that you have that, when they only have less than 1000 GS overall, then they'd either be jealous, or say

The problem is, theres a big difference between soccer and an internet flash game that goes beyond the mere physical aspects. When you're playing soccer, and you want bragging rights, you don't want the "50-score achievement" or "50 game award" or some crap like that. You want to be the MVP.

Most Valuable Player. Now, that actually means something. That means you're "The Best". Sort of like how being a Valid Victorian makes you "The Best" of the school, and sort of like how winning a nobel prize means you're just an awesome dude.

You become the MVP by Playing. You get VV by Learning. You get the Nobel Prize by Doing Something Astounding.

You get "Achievements" by... doing the same thing over and over again X amount of times?... hitting some buttons in the right places...? What? Anyone can do something if you put a number on it. I can almost guarantee 98% of anyone who's ever won every achievement in a game NEVER DID NOR EVER WILL GO BACK TO IT. I want to find the person that plays that game every day regardless of what some "medal" says.

Achievements on this website should dump the metagaming feature and become limitless.

I dunno whats wrong with my account, but it doesnt record any of the metals I earn. I figured it was because of the outage before, but I just earned a few on the William and Sly game, but they are all still locked.

Thank god William and Sly had a save feature then. Sheesh.
