Which do you prefer?

I used to like soft vibrato like Allan Holdsworth, but lately I've been using more of a Jeff Loomis vibrato, very wide and aggressive!

Depends on the situation really. If I'm playing some sort of ambient mellow thing, I'd probably make sort of a soft vibrato sound with my floyd rose. Usually when I'm shredding and I descend to the G string for a sustained note I'll throw in some crazy giant vibrato.

Definitely a depends.

There's no reason to limit oneself to any single version of a tool.

Overall it depends for me, but I tend to use a lot of wide vibrato. Soft vibrato only if I'm doing a more ambiance type of song (which is rare).

When playing the drums I like to have my drum heads tighter, so it creates more of a bounce.

I am one for the Malmsteen vibrato that's where I got my vibrato from was that swed lol. But like kor-rune said it depends on the situation a wide vibrato is'nt the best option. So I would learn a bunch of different styles of vibrato just to enhance your playing skills. When the time is right use it!
