toon boom problem

yes, i know this site is mainly about flash, but this is animation software that exports files to swfs.
any how.

i have this problem with toon boom digital pro ple. when i use the brush tool, it wont let me see the strokes when using the tool (only when finished using) and these strange box shapes appear at the end of each line making me not know where that line ends.

if anyone has experience with toon boom and knows anything about how to sort this problem, do say.
