Anyone interested in starting a Collab with some Flash artists who'd create music videos for segmented pieces created here, by us?
Because I don't think I've come across a Flash Collaboration based around a collaboration of song segments in order to make our Fellow NGers aware of the talent that is actually kicking around on this portal.
Not only would it be a first, but it'd be a really good chance for some names to get out there, along with getting some flash artists with appreciative roots in music.
The only thing I'd want to see out of it is a nice blend in song transitions (IE: we each start and stop our song segments in a similar way so they can be beat-matched into each other... in a sense.)
Thoughts?

i think it was called the music in motion collab.
but i think another flash audio collab would be cool. but you would have to advertise it in flash forums once you get enough musicians on board

Yea I figured we could get roughly 15-20 musicians doing 30-45 second segmented pieces. And once I've had those pieces confirmed I could head over to the Flash forum and do a call-out for some artists whilst giving them a list of who/what we actually have going on here.
(Maybe I can get stamper to do up a nifty collab menu similar to what the SF Collab had)

First of all i would like to join for this.
Secondly, you have to have a theme for everyone to work with. Also i would suggest making every be on a specific key, or the entire video will sound strange.

I really don't mind personally what the style/mood of it would be as I can work with almost any direction..
I think a good focus for now is to make more artists aware, both in Flash and Audio.. the more people behind this idea the better

Why not just an overall Electronic theme, everyone can do their genre with an Electornica style to it. I think that would make it more friendly for all.

I dont think we should do a specific genre, since that will limit our artists. We should specify on a theme, like for example, Battles.
Battle music is in a variety of genres, giving everyone the chance to do their own style.
But again there should be a unique quality in everyones song that stands out saying "HEY! I WAS PART OF THIS COLLAB" For example, a specific instrument or something each person should use.

i think it'd be more interesting to have a common flash theme but let each audio artist do their own thing. i'd like to see how some flash artists would interpret the music in order to fit the theme

I like the idea of everyone being able to do their own thing, as long as we set some standards, like I said it should have some sort of flow to it so we'd probably would need to stick around a certain BPM range.... or at least have the tracks go in a certain progression order for bpm and notes maybe?
EX start off wit like ambient and finish with like hardstyle or something else fast-paced like DnB?
Keep the ideas coming! If you can get the word out I am doing the same ;) Which is what we need.

You mean like the CTSG collab? =P
A new one was also completed recently that hasn't been animated yet... but... there's always room for more lol. It does take a lot of organization and work though. The last one took over half a year just for the audio side... who knows how long it'll be on animation.

yeah, i'm in.
Why not do something that differs each time? like do the red-line thing from Indiana Jones where the airplane flies around the globe as a transition to each new flash/audio mixture? You could do Asia, then move on to something different like the wild west, or be really exotic and go to different planets! (i guess it all depends on how the flash artist uses it, huh?)
Anyways, just a suggestion (it might clear up the whole key-change thing if the audience has a brief 5 seconds to clear their heads of the last song to get ready for the next song)

Quoted and shortened to get more people to read it. Still, mores always better. Learn from the past first though: CTSG Flash Collab
The song for the second proposed flash collab...

Like I said, it's been done before but you shouldn't let that stop you. Just do yourselves a favor and do a little research first. That might have saved us seven and a half months in the animation process on the first one when we only expected to take one.

haha, actually... I'm starting to wonder where that ctsg song 3 flash thread is. I'm already 1/100th of the way done with your part... by the standards of how long it took the last animation process I'm already half way there...

REALLY ?
SHOULD BE SOMWHERE...
XD So I've remembered. Though I'd like this collab to focus more on those and styles that are less near the top.
I really like the indiana jones idea. Incorporating something along those lines would be pretty nifty...
I still think doing a slow progression to fast progression as far as the line-up works.
So since using this thread's title as the collab name would be evidently lame as hell..
Can I get some suggestions for a better collab name? After we can get this much I'll do up a complete rough up of the rules and structure of the collaboration.

I have an idea for the title, but for that to be any good, we would all need to make our songs at the same BPM... So, if we picked 120 BPM, the collab could be called 120 BPM Collab. Now that I think about it, it sounds really lame...
NO! What am I doing?!
NO, hand! Don't click post it!

If the collab was to be based around one bpm that'd be a great idea... simple yet effective.
Unfortunately it would revoke a lot of other artists creativity as not everyone can create around just one BPM... rather that music in all its awe cannot live at just one bpm speed.

I know... Maybe if we all had a similiar theme. Not genre, theme. Such as chill, ambient or dark, something along those lines. No matter what genre a musician is used to, he can write a song he thinks is chill. Also, when I say ambient, I don't mean the genre, I mean a song that creates sort of an ambience.

Well if people are keen about it, we should do it. The only thing I think is, we cant have every single person who's volountered, we need like a capped ammount of artists for the colab.
Names out a hat or something?
