In California, I've heard it called soda, I've heard in called pop and one person called it sody pop... that guy isn't alive anymore sadly. You just can't go around calling it sody pop.

Yeah, I've grown up learning the word "soda" but I went out west to visit my family some years ago and they were calling it pop.

People in Canada say Pop, but I'm used to Soda or we refer to the name of that particular brand of soda.

MY friend is from Ohio and says pop, it pisses me off because he can be a prick about it.

In Tennessee, most of us call it soda because we don't live in the early 1900's.

I'm in California and everyone here says soda. My friends in Oregon and Chicago call it pop, but I don't understand it.

I didn't grow up in any specific location. I've been all over the east coast US. From Texas to New York (where I live presently). Everywhere I have been its been called soda mostly.

Here in Massachusettes we call it soda, I know nobody who calls it "pop"

yeah I hear english people saying "soft drinks" and "whimpy bars" and, that just shows they relate all their drinks to booze, lol, which is ok by me I guess, but I think it def says something

I say soda. I'm from Albany, New York, and that's the consensus around here. However, there are some areas in western and northern NY that say pop instead. Mostly those people live in smaller communities that are fairly rural.
