Don't see why it has to be someone else's old shit. Isn't it basically just redrawing someone else's art in your style? Redrawing your own art is fun and I remember a lot of threads that did that.

People should make like checkpoints in their lives. Every year you redraw something from a month or year ago, so you'd have a long ass timeline of how your skill improved.

True, but I still think it's a fun idea, as it is like seeing what your old art could have looked like if you had a decent amount of skill way back when. And even if your skills with art aren't quited honed yet, you can still get a look at how it could be- just for fun.
I like art threads you can participate in, and this one's quite different to 'I'll draw what you want' or 'I'll draw your stuff in my style'.

Ah, I find redrawing my own art a pain in the ass, really. I really enjoy redrawing other people's crap, it makes me feel better about myself :P
