ouch, sorry man. that happened with one of our big fireworks, it forgot to shoot and blew up in the tube. luckily no one got hurt, i did get some sparks on my legs, but i shouldnt have been wearing shorts

Im gonna sound like a dick here, but he deserved it. People who are dumb enough to blow their own limbs off with fireworks dont deserve them. For fucks sake, read the packaging. They always say "Do not hold in hand, do not throw." You're supposed to put it on the ground, light the fuse and run. I do hope your friend recovers, but I hope he learned a lesson as well.

What exactly happened? Did a firework not go off? Did he not step away or something?

He was holding it and instead of it shooting up in the air and blowing up making a big circle of colors, it made the big circle of colors right there inside the tube, blowing up the tube and fucking up his hand.

Sorry about your friend. But to all those people who say that fireworks are banned in some places for a reason and aren't sorry are complete idiots. I mean come on, here in Canada fireworks are fine all year-round and in North America there are more annual deaths from bed frames than from fire-works.
