Can somebody please explain to me where to find the so-called dumping grounds as described in the FAQs? I'm totally confused. Is it new?

It's not new, in fact, it's old. So old that it doesn't exist, though I think I once read that the staff are planning to bring it back.
*gasp*! I must have missed a lot when I left NG in September 2006 and came back Christmas 2008!

Actually, it never existed. Maybe you're thinking about NGMag?
They are planning, or maybe were, I don't know, to make it. But they have not made it yet.

Sorry, I think you're right, I was probably thinking about NGMag when I wrote that. But it's weird because I remember reading about Dumping Grounds not long ago. It was on this thread:

It is still in partial progress and is still expected to arrive in the coming months. We have lots in the works but we don't discuss it because other sites with greater financial resources can turn the features out faster if we give them the ideas.

No need to be sorry, and I wasn't trying to catch you out there... you just got me stumped when you said it existed before - I was like, "What? It did? I must be losing it!"

It never existed, it was just an idea. Therefor, he is right.
Right. I made no implication that it wouldn't be around at some point or other - the faq entry is kinda like the chicken before the egg.
Oh I thought dumping grounds was a non-public scat humor part of the site. However you don't need the dumping grounds just submit it and if it gets blammed remember the ungrounds full url and then you can watch it, and steal it if you are the collab organizer.
Yes I think suicide is funny and I am sick of pretending its not.

I always thought that was the "dumping grounds"...
Whatever it WAS... it's now just ye olde 404 http error. #;-}>

God, you're replying to a 10 days old post. There used to be an animation there, maybe it was just removed.
