So it's summer time in Florida, we're really feeling it. My county indexed at 101 today (33770 area code if you don't believe it) and I still put my ass outside to run 2 miles. The first mile I crushed in 5:54, but I wanted to die. An amp later and I'm ready to go out again. Silly me, it's still 100 fucking degrees outside!

So the second mile I finish in about 6:05, give or take. I do this daily, as well as walk the dogs for a half mile in the evening (When it's still fucking 95). Whats the longest distance you've run, and the circumstances around it? I'm interested in what gets Newgrounds users off their asses.

TL;DR: Longest you've run and why. Discuss.

I seriously doubt you ran a mile that fast. You are either one hell of a track star or you are lying your ass off, but if you say so.
The most I've run in a long time 2 miles and I was pushing 16 minutes. I suck at running not so the leg pain as I have no breathing pattern. I was trying to pass a PT test for the Army which I failed miserably.

I've been in many 2 mile races and my best time was 10:14. With no break of course. But I'm a runner, so I can't really compare myself to the average person.

Not really, it's extremely possible to run a mile in 6 minutes. I shave the last few seconds off by hitting the last 16th of a mile full sprint. This also serves to break down oxygen faster in the leg muscles, thus toning and building muscle faster. I can do my 3 mile requirement for Marine Corps training in about 20 minutes, I have to brake a little into the second mile for a breather. I go for speed, not distance.

Also, if you're interested in breathing patterns, you always want to keep it steady. I pull in from the nose, out the mouth. Hold it in for a second, right? So that you're not doing controlled hyperventilation.

Bro, there's no way I could ever do 10 miles. I may have pushed it on the football field one day, you cross that field enough and it adds up. But I still doubt I could do it, 10 miles is one hell of a long way to go. If it came down to it, though, I could probably kick your ass in sprints.

There are people that can run 3 miles in under that time. Don't call him a liar just because you're not very fast.

1.Never said I was in track. Truthfully I haven't gotten off my ass since Middle school to play any sport.
2.His time is pushing it for someone who Isn't experienced. That's all I was saying I didn't mean to come out talking like I know everything, but I do kinda doubt the 3 miles thing.

Yeah, shortest race I'll do is a yard. I play safety, anything we do is a glorified game of catch-up. Unless, of course, we intercept. Which is something I've done a few times, did an 80 some-odd yard return one time. Full sprint in armor, that's tough. But adrenaline and such kept me on my feet.

The longest race I'll do is a half mile, coincidence. Although for my PE exam we had to run a mile in less than 15 minutes, somehow I came in first. The last chick to cross failed it with 28 minutes. I love our youth today.

Some fat guy in my PE class ran a mile in about 23 minutes, lol.

Hah, no doubt man. I didn't know it was exam day, so I was out all night with some friends. Movies and such. Because I woke up late, I didn't bother to change and rushed my ass to school in a purple polo, skinny jeans and these bitchin' Converse. Ran a mile looking like a queer. Still managed it in like 6:50 something, it was very close to 7 minutes.

Wanna know how to shave even more time off? Don't drink a fucking amp after or before running. Especially when it's so hot. Are you and idiot?

There was about an hour time difference. I put an amp down after I chilled with a bottle of water. When I went out for the second run I had some Gatorade in me. Trust me, I know. It's also not icy cold, so don't lecture me on that one, too. I've played sports long enough to know how to properly hydrate.

My fastest mile yet is 5:31. Although mine were in really good weather conditions and your weather is pretty fucking terrible for running. I think I would pass out if I had to run a mile in weather that fuckin hot.

I was doing just under 6.5 miles last summer, usually taking me an hour and 20 minutes. But, I've been too busy for running this summer, which is kinda bumming me out a little bit. The health benefits of running regularly are amazing.

We did a mini-marathon (2.6 miles) at school on our last P.E lesson because our teacher wanted to tease us for our last lesson. I did alright, I can't remember my time though but it was just over 13 minutes. I was pretty pleased with myself and came 2nd in the class.

Annoying super-athletic boy beat me by nearly a whole 1 min 30 seconds...

I've been running seriously for a few years.

I suppose I'll post some PB's and wait for Timmy to come along and shatter them....

Marathon - 3:37:40.00
Half Marathon - 1:32.20.00
10k - 37:20
5k (apprx 3 miles) - 17:11
3k (approx 2 miles) - 9:20
1500 - 4:15
1000 - 2:41
800 - 1:59.67
600 - 1:25.54
400 - 51.70

My 1500 time extrapolates to a 4:28 mile, but I KNOW I can run much faster. I do 64's is training all day, which make me feel like I could run a 4:02-4:03 1500 or a 4:15 mile.

when you talk, i dont care what it means, shouldn't just stare at you, should i?
