Audio Portal Awards?

I was thinking and i was wondering " why don't musicians get awards like animators do?" I was thinking about this for a while and I came up with a idea. 3 of the highest scored audio tracks will be given a Golden CD, silver CD, and a Bronze CD. As you know already this is exactly like how flash movies are given awards. Well it will be every day just like the flash awards. Their will also be a review crew pick for music! The crew picks the best audio that they like the most out of the whole week and give it the Review Crew Pick Music Award. I really would think musicians got the respect they deserve from this and hey, we musicians put a lot of effort in making music too!

Please look over my idea, i put a lot of effort into thinking of it.

There aren't really enough audio submissions submitted daily to have a fair daily ranking set.

It would be kind of nice to see some sort of monthly award set, however.

This was already suggested before. There aren't enough music submitted per day on the audio portal, and only a few people vote on new submissions, so this wouldn't work very well. But weekly or monthly award would be a nice addition.

Are you kidding me, there are over 100 audio submissions daily not to mention the 320 last week that were from new artists alone.

blam/save and experiance should be implemented, seeing as hardly anyone votes because there really is no point, therefore daily awards would most likely go to shit.

But then people would just vote low because they don't like the genre, in spite of the actual song.

Music is too subjective.

This happened way before you and i signed up, OP. There used to be a ranking system, Platinum CD's and such.

idk. audio is never talked about much and since not too much is submited daily, or weekly, judging would be hard and i don't think wade wants to have to fix ANOTHER automated sysrtem if it breaks. It's wade who dies tech stuff right? god, i need more sleep.....

I think that the audio portal should be more akin to the flash one. As mentioned previosuly you can't have daily awards but weekly or monthly could still be done. Also the flash portal has other sections like "The best underdog" and things like that which would be nice to see.

It would be the most important improvement id like to see here on newgrounds.

because who would fairly judge it?
do we go by overall score for nominees or what?
im sure they would like some recognition... maybe Tom or Wade can figure out some details

The scoring isn't right for an award system. It is all over the place.

It'd be interesting if it went by genre. The again that'd just be widening the odds of getting good awards and then it wouldn't make the awards not matter much.

I think the amount of views should count as evidence enough of whether people like a song. That and reviews.

Back in the day prior to the redesign there were awards for audio I think. They should really bring them back.

Sounds like a great idea to me, I'm always listening to music on there anyways.
