Newgrounds (as you know it today) has been thriving for over ten years and continues to expand with new features and recent additions such as the NG store, medal system, revenue sharing, Art Portal, video game forum, etc. etc. Everyday thousands of unique users log in to view the site and participate in its many areas. New sponsors buy advertising space all the time, and plenty of quality work is produced by worthwhile audio and flash artists.
In the same respect, there is an opposite end to the spectrum: sub-par and spam submissions by crews and the such are produced. There have been many spam crews since long before you signed up, and there will always be spam crews. They come and go like the tides. No one single group of pubescent trolls will cause this site's downfall.
If and when spam crews circumvent the rules by mass voting to steal awards, they are dealt with by the appropriate authority. If you wish to help the site, continue to vote on submissions accordingly and report malicious activity. As long as there are active users who follow the rules and promote a friendly community, there will always be a Newgrounds.
