Newgrounds is bouncing up and down as most companies do have their high years and low. Newgrounds used to have like a fraction of the visitors in 99 and right now its huge and isnt dying anytime soon. The site would still kick ass if there was 1/4 the users and got the occassional funny crappy flash from that kid who lives in his parents basement that doesnt give a fuck about what people think of him so he goes all out against political correctness and doesnt care who he offends.

Newgrounds is basically 4chan.

To be honest artist and animation has become alot better over the years, which, like the Xbox make things look more plain and unintresting towords new viewers. If an Xbox360 owner, went and played some PS1 games, he'd just complain and brag about the graphics.etc.

This evolution in artist ability has been credited on Newgrounds, before we'd find animations such as. There She Is, or Final Fantasy A+ - some kind of breakthrough in user flash animation. Now it looks mediocre and the bar has been raised significantly.

Newgrounds is not dieing, it's going through its cycle. Some old users leave, new users join, with new expectations, however we do not see any debating go on in the general forums anymore. I used to be a very active member of that!

Things come things die. But newgrounds is not living, therefore the choice to allow it to die is within the corrospondence of the users.

Newgrounds have gone to shit, I agree.

I thought Newgrounds was dying a few years ago and yet I'm still here along with a bunch of other people I've known since I was fairly new to this place.

What's really happening is the nostalgia of this site is wearing off and the addiction is starting to set in. Normally if you think a website is dying you'd just leave instead of staying here like you are now.

You want to fix Newgrounds? You want to stop spam in the Portal? Learn to act. There's a 0 button for a good reason. Also, if a new user with no previous Flash submissions, or someone who has, to date, only ever submitted spam, submits something good, make sure it's not stolen. See, that's how spammers steal Daily awards: steal, pass, rename and fileswap just before midnight.

Spam isn't the only thing everyone should worry about, its not exactly one of the major causes towards the portal/BBS.
I'm sure there are other things to worry about.

Actually in the long run spam is taken out and is only ever seen by us (the community who B/Ps). Newgrounds is dying, its progressing faster than it ever has before and sign-ups continue to flood in.

I don't really care because I am 13 and I have better things to do than go on the Internet and post on Forums. I just don't like it that much because if you do it everyday, then it will get boring. I suggest quit Newgrounds and go somewhere else like Kongregate or some other big Flash site. I do not hate Newgrounds, it is just boring enoguh for me to leave.

Spam is not a big fucking deal. The creators don't even really like it. They are an important part of the newgrounds community: they do it for teh lulz. Do you know how much this site would suck without spam? It's good, bad and spam. That's how it works.
