I know this story has already bee busted, but I can explain why there would be a third option. Whenever there is a multiple choice section on a test, the teacher will hand out standardized scantron cards that can be used for any situation; it makes it easier to mark. These usually have A-E as choices, so the teacher can make 5 answers for each question. This guy (allegedly) didn't even look at the test, and didn't even know it was True/False.
