My Flash - Ng Medals-.

I've already asked Tom, but it's gunna be yonks till he replys.

Does anyone know how to make medals work when you submit your game to NG. I'm calling everyone who has used medals for their games to please help me. This is the collab I've submitted, and This is all the code I have used to pop up the medal:

_root.medal_popup.unlockMedal("ARTIST");

What do I need to add to make it so that you actually get the medals from NG and put the medal on the users userpage and give points, so on. . . .

I have no idea what to do, and I REALLY need someone to help me out on this.

And no one worry, I've already gone through everything with tom about this, I've given him everything, his given me everything. It's all good. I just dunno what to do to get what's needed done :(

i dont know mutch about medals becase i have never used them but have you tried it without the root

i assume you are using as2 otherwise i presume you have the wrong target

I would assume that you have to make sure the user is logged in first. I think you can find that out by _root.ngusername or something.

I have now found out that people are now actually getting the achievements, but then at the same time, some aren't (like myself).

I was wandering if it differed from what kinda computer you have, like MAC or WINDOWS. Because I can't seem to get the achievements myself. But for now I'll just leave it as it is.

yeah in-game i got all five, but they won't show up.

I'm using Windows XP, Google Chrome, btw.

I'm pretty sure that won't work, but I'm not on my computer so I can't tell you what will. If that code does work, here are some things you might have forgotten:

1) Did you install the 'com' folder?
2) Did you set debug mode to false?

evan210 - Thats exactly what's happening to me. And I'm Using Windows XP and Mozilla Firefox.

They're not showing up for me and I've got Vista > Safari.

So there's some variety that shows lots of different browsers won't get it so it probably has nothing to do with the browser

Hmm. . . This is an extremely weird problem. I know that NG users are actually getting the medals, but then a bunch aren't. So I thought I'd try again, and now it says that NG can't find Newgrounds gateway or something. And says try disabling your ad-block add-on, so I did and the error message still pops up.

And this didn't start occurring till about 10mins ago when I re-tried getting the medals. . . This sucks =/

you could try PMing psychogoldfish. Tom's going out to San Diego next week. The chances of him helping you are probably slim. Anyway, did you get the medals from Tom/PSG ? or did you ask someone with medals to give you their api? They need to make a placeholder for you in the system, you cant just take it from someone who had medals and try and use it yourself.

Nah, I got it all from Tom.

But I think the medals are working now, because I tested it again just last night and I got em. I dunno, maybe the NG server was down for a bit. But whatever happened is better now :)

Does anyone know the script to stop the TAP button from working, people are just cheating their way through getting the awards. I can't believe I don't know this :3

i tried speed clicking but that didnt work so i sped through then stopped just before and it worked

here is a idea, remove the next button on the one before and replace with a continue button but in a different position :)

or you could add a countdown timer

so say after 3 seconds the next button becomes availablr
