So I made myself some hot chocolate by using warm milk and that chocolate powder in the packet. I look at the directions and it says to heat for 2 to 3 minutes using water then putting in the powder.

Now there seems to be two things wrong with this.

1. Being putting water in the microwave for 3 minutes would make it too hot to drink

2. Water + chocolate = asstastic taste.

So I ask you newgrounds...why do they tell you to use water when water and chocolate clearly tastes terrible(using milk and hot chocolate is a much better idea). What kind of sick mother fucker would write those directions to lead poor hot chocolate virgins into the misery of water chocolate? And why would they tell you to microwave it that long when it would burn your tongue?

Yeah, just give me a quarter-gallon of milk and I'm set for the meal.

I don't need hot chocolate.
... in the Summer?

Milk is amazing when used right, like that hot chocolate you were talking about.

when the milk gets warm it creates a thin skin on top of the liquid and they think you will eat it, shoke on it, and die.

or try to use it as a condom then sue them for the UNprotection

Let powder sit on top of water. Heat up for 1 minute. Stir in chocolate. Heat for 30-45 seconds. Stir again. Sip when at suitable temperature.

It depends on your microwave. When I'm heating leftover coffee ('cause I'm a hopeless caffeine addict who'd drink coffee in the morning out of a dead hooker's anal cavity if it came to that) in MY microwave, it only takes 1:20 to get it to piping hot. But, some people might not keep their microwave on high, and some people may not have microwaves that are as powerful. That's why there isn't a precise figure on the package.

Additionally, I've never made instant hot-cocoa with anything but water. It tastes just as good, I only added milk if I'd heated it too much and needed to cool it down a little.

Because the Mayans, the people who invented Hot Chocolate, didn't have Cows to produce the milk needed, so they used water instead.

You're a freak. When I followed the directions once and used water it tasted pretty bad. It tasted like warm water with feces in it.

And yes im having hot chocolate in the middle of summer. DONT JUDGE ME!

Ok honestly, it really doesn't matter to me. Unless you do it my way, water way tastes like shit. But sometimes the heat will make the milk taste like shit too, so just do whatever is more convenient, probably water.

That sounds really complicated. Im not a woman so I can't go spending all my time in the kitchen making 5 servings of hot chocolate.

It does sound weird, but I've had hot chocolate mix that uses water, it it isn't bad. Part of the powder is probably evaporated milk to provide the dairy/cocoa flavoring.

I don't know. I 'd take milk over water though. That is if I could. Water is most needed for your body.

I guess they just thought it would taste better that way.

Damn, I was going to say, if someone doesn't point this out I'm going to lose faith in you all. :P

Hot chocolate mix isn't just chocolate, it's powdered milk and chocolate, so the milk is already there. You only need to add hot water. HOWEVER, many people, including myself, prefer to add milk so it's extra creamy and delicious.

One time I had an old milk bottle filled with the powder. Me thinking it was for chocolate milk I put it in cold milk.

It coagulated.

Yeah, I'm dumb. Never did it cross my mind it was hot chocolate mix...

I see wade agrees with me about drinking things that are creamy and delicious

mmm

Yeah and I just checked the ingredients on the bag after that post about powdered milk. And what do you know? Hes right.

But since ive tasted it before without adding liquid milk, I have come to the conclusion that powdered milk is no substitute for real milk.

Chocolate milk? Blasphemy.

I don't actually like the taste of chocolate milk. It takes the bad qualities of both chocolate and milk and mixes them together. Well thats just my take on it, everyone else seems to like it for some reason.

Then either melt chocolate and add it to the drink, or use chocolate syrup.

Instant success.

It's much cheaper and easier to make hot chocolate with water in bulk, like in winter camping.

It's sort of made for camping where you need a warm drink and can't carry milk. Atleast, that's what I always assumed.

Maybe they're too lazy to put a warning for lactose intolerant people to say milk, or they want to go bankrupt for some reason by making people make their hot chocolate with water which equals nasty taste.

it depends on what you are using, if its cocoa then you have to use milk (and a little sugar) if its an instant chocolate mix then its already got milk powder in it.

cream is the only option for a proper hot chocolate!
