Songs You Cannot Stand At Work

When your at work and music is playing overhead, you know that there are songs you cannot stand while you are at work. Some songs get you in a "workable" mood, others make you want to tear your ears off. There are songs that play maybe one or twice in a week or like at my job, the song plays around the same time on a loop all week and either has or hasn't gotten stuck in your head and hard to get out. May have even made you research the song to figure out who recorded it and what year the song was made.

At my job, these are the songs I cannot stand...

Captain and Tennille - Muskrat Love
The Power Station - Some Like It Hot
Bobbie Gentry - Ode to Billie Joe (Tallahassee Bridge)
Scott MacKenzie - (If You Are Going to) San Francisco
Hollies - He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother
Otis Redding - Try A Little Tenderness
Any song that has to do with surfing and summer, especially Jan & Dean - Summer Means Fun

There are others but I can't think them off the top of my head so I'll update if anybody want to share their horrible songs.

So tell me... what song at work that plays once, twice or all week is a song you cannot stand?

I've looked to see if previous threads were made in relation to this, but the closest was "Miserably retarded Songs." but bumping an old thread to the top sounded like waste of time

My boss only plays shitty country songs, by god what is his problem. I handed him a CD with metal he listened to 1 song and listened to more, interested, I think I just saved my sanity and our ears.

It sucks even more since today I found out we cannot bring in CD's or MP3 players anymore because we had "Loud, offensive, inappropriate music." We are now limited to ONE WHOLE RADIO STATION.

I use to work in a kitchen and we could play whatever CDs or radio station we wanted as long as it wasn't incredibly busy.

It was a pretty laid back place.

Haha. I had an emo moment with that song once back when I just graduated out of high school.

Anyways, back when I used to work at a radio station, I had the extreme misfortune of listening to a lot of country music, seeing's how one of the stations I watched over was a country music station. I even did some DJ'ing on that station, even though I dislike country music with a passion.

Thank god there was a sports radio station to listen to, as well. I would have snapped. Although the mix station we had wasn't too horrible in the after hours, either.

Funny story about that. Up until a few weeks ago, country music was all that played in the store. That didn't bother me to much, but it did get annoying every now and then. Then, one day, this emo kid came along and started to whine and bitch about how he hated country music to the manager. So the manager, not wanting to miss a chance to mess with the kid, changed it to elevator music.

The only reason I still go to work and put up with that shit is to watch and see how long it takes for that kid to crack.

I am lucky, because I have a radio and I'm normally working alone, so I can listen to the local metal station. However, they tend to play the same songs over and over and it gets old.

When I have to work with someone else, they just simply HAVE to listen to (c)rap...which makes my ears bleed. :(

we have the local radio station on... and at 4am to around 8am they have the same four songs on loop beacuse NO ONE would be up that early... at currently the are having a MJ week so all the songs they are playing are his... dont get me wrong i like some of the music but after hearing "beat it" for the 8th time today im starting to feel the urge to turn it off somehow... uggggghhhhhh.... make it stop!

Ironically, with much researching, my store decided to play music dated back to the 1960's to late 1970's. Only a few 80's and 90's songs that are not all bad but jeez... I wonder how can I convince us to play modern music or at least jazz.

Worked at several places, and it's the same... by December, it's corny Christmas songs sung by Marriah Carrey, Boyz II Men, and the rest of the guys from Motown.

I'm in and out of different cars all day long at work, so luckily if they're listening to some loser rap shit like Lil' Wayne, or... darn, who's popular with the kids these days, P Diddy? Is P Diddy still cool? I don't know.... either way, my point is that I don't have to hear it for more then a minute or two.
The problem with that is though that when a song that I like is playing, I don't get to listen to it.

I've been really enjoying all of the Michael Jackson that's been playing on the radio here the last week, so it hasn't been too bad lately.

I don't work, but when i do go to my mother's job, they always play Hometown by Adele. Its a good song, but repeating it 40 times in 4 hours isn't cool.
