I personally can't remember what bosses have scared me as a kid, there must have been plenty but I'm drawing a blank right now. recently I'd have to say the Regenerator from Dead Space and the Bear from Condemned 2 from last year. The creatures themselves never scared me, it was just the way you had to deal with them that made me scream while I played. Both involved you having to work in small and claustrophobic environments trying to get away from something that not only was unbeatable, but no matter how fast you ran you could practically FEEL it breathing down your neck it was so close.

Those fucking Jenovas from FFVII. ARGH! It's a MONSTROSITY! But the music was good.

actually, the THX logo sequence scared me as a kid, from any movie that had it, it was so load i hid from it.

I'm with you. I just replayed D3 and I STILL shit bricks around those things. I can tell if they're nearby so I just use the classic "get everything" code and spam BFG shots until I'm absolutely sure they're all dead.

Also, back in the day a few bosses from Majora's mask creeped me out. The giant worm things were pretty weird looking, and they had the annoying habit of popping out of nowhere. Granted you had the giant's mask, but if that wore off I'd dodge-roll between erupting pillars of angry worm demon until I found enough green pots to get my MP back up to where I could smack them around again.

The final boss was the scariest, mostly because of a few factors that brought it all together:

1: first your standing in a field. on the moon. okay, now you're standing in a room with pulsating multicolored walls with no exits. and the crazy mask thing is locked in there with you. FUUUU-

2: It makes noises like something I'd expect to hear in Exmortis. Even with the Uber death link mask thing, the boss would still be faster than you and waited until your panicked mind started looking for him until he back-attacked you.

3: each form looked weirder than the last. First it's a mask with tentacles. Then it grows long limbs resembling those damn wackyinflatablearmflailingballontubemen, and then it bulks up, grows a Zalgo-looking head, and its hands turn into giant tentacle whips. Not enough firepower in the world.

Fuck, I'd still getting creeped out just writing about it.

This guy isnt a boss, hell, not even an enemy, but when I was doing the Anju & Kafei side quest in LoZ: Majora's Mask, I got a letter to Kafei, and for some reason I decided to go into the bathroom while I was in Stock Pot Inn, and this random hand just pops out, I freaked me out, I thought it was a Dead Hand from the Bottom of the Well & Shadow Temple from Ocarina. But it really is just a guy who lives in the toilet and he wants paper. (I gave him the letter the first time, he used it to wipe his ass, and then gave me a Piece of Heart, which is a really funny scene. :P)

Not a boss, I know, but the flood from Halo (only in the first game) used to scare the crap outta me. I'd get to that part of the game and start freaking out.

Tell me about it. lol The onyl guys in a game that ever scared me would be the Zombies from Zelda: Ocorina of time. It was just the weird moan that did it I think. I was about 8 at the time.

The magora's mask Final boss WOULD have scared me had I been younger. I still thought it was a pretty horrifying thing. The tentacles told me that the Skull-kid's face was still in the mask and torn from his boddy.

Barinade, from Zelda 64. Also Bongo Bongo. I was like 9 years old when I first played it, gimme a break...
