So I was wondering, what does Newgrounds use as it's main OS? Vista? Leopard? Ubuntu? FreeBSD? Post what you use and why.

For instance, I use both; a Mac and a Windows computer. The Mac is for my bloatish programs (like adobe stuff) and the Windows is for web browsing, games, and everything else.

I use mac and windows for the reasons you said, but I usually play wndows games usually on ubuntu. They run faster on it for some reason, except for the ones with online modes.

Windows 7. I don't use computers to do artsy things, and even if I do, I can properly use Adobe flash/photoshop just fine with a Windows comp. Games just aren't realistic on an Apple computer at this point, and I simply despise the way Apple comps work. Was raised on 95 and 98, so Apple is like a foreign language to me. Easier my ass.

Oh and Mac guy annoys me. All the Mac commercials do. Then Macunts get all pissy when Windows fires back with a commercial bashing Mac's with 11 year olds and their mother searching for a computer at Best Buy. GOD DAMN THOSE 11 YEAR OLD CHILDREN AND THEIR 1% REALISTIC MARKETABILITY!

I use Windows XP, not Vista because I can't dish out enough money, and not a Mac because I can't dish out enough money.

Seriously though, I like both Windows and Macintosh, and I really have no preference. Getting in flamewars over them is just plain stupid in my opinions.

I would like to try Linux though.

Sabayon Linux is amazing, and Gentoo is also fun. Windows Seven RC# is also nice, and of course Leopard is, too.

Windows XP.

Because it's not Vista.

I wish I had a Mac, though. I wanna run my Adobe CS4 Master Collection on it.

I code in AS2, in case I forgot to mention it.

I use Windows because it's all I can really afford right now. For Christmas I'll try and get a Mac mini but for now my dad likes getting Dell computers (I'm getting a new Dell laptop within the next few days) for reasons I don't know.

I still want a Mac so now I'll just ask for the least expensive one in the future.

I use Windows. I always have used a Windows OS. I just prefer it. I know Macs tend to be better for some things, but I still prefer Windows - you can easily use it as well. I have Vista Home Premium on my laptop, and my desktop.

Plus, I had a bad experience with Apple previously. I don't trust their MP3 Players, so I'm hardly going to trust their computers. The one thing I like about Mac is the dock - so I have one on my laptop. It's a RocketDock.

Ubuntu is awesome. The interface and stuff is sexier than on any other operating system, and its good for doing simple shit. It can run exe files, just not complex ones.

YOU SHOULD GET IT.

From what I've heard, any Linux distribution can do that.

I'm running on a Windows XP because it's the best windows out there, I don't plan on upgrading to Vista because it sucks, and Windows 7 looks better, but I'd still prefer XP. Why? Because it's simple and straight to the point. I don't need fancy transitions and shit, I just need a computer than can access the internet. Seriously. And Macs? The only reason I'd get a Mac is for GarageBand because that's probably the best thing Apple did. Macs are too complected anyways, they're no real explorer that I can view my files easily, there's all these different things and just, ugh! XP is the best so far in my opinion, it's simple and easy to use.

And once again, this is all just my opinion, don't start bitching like "Macs are the best! Shut the fuck up" because you're just wasting my time. I'm starting my opinion, not saying what is true.

I recently got a MacBook a month ago, and Leopard runs faster than any OS I've ever used before. It is much more reliable than Windows; I've yet to have anything crash. And the fact that Macs can now run Windows with BootCamp, a Mac seems like the smartest choice for the all around user now.

I agree with you there, but I think Apple needs to let go of their tight fist around Mac computers. If they just let OS X run on hardware not manufactured by themselves, I would love them. In all honesty, OS X is not worth the extra money.

I use Windows because I don't want to pay for all the extra programs on a Mac that will really only slow it down. I am a gamer so I go for the fast Windows computers.

Linux is an excellent OS. Better than either Windows or Mac in my opinion. However Mac is a monopoly. You buy one and you are screwed. You will be dependant on that company because the computers are so damn small. Also the specs for Macs are a lot less. My PC has the following hardware:

-6 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
-Intel Core i7 925 processor at 2.66 GHz (Quad Core with HT - equal to 3.2 GHz Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition)
-Asus P6T SE Motherboard Supporting up to 24 GB of RAM and 4 PCI-Express slots.
-23-inch Asus Motherboard
-Guardian Inferno case
-ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
-1 TB 7200 RPM HDD
-Sony 22x DVD+/-RW with lightscribe

Try getting THAT out of a Mac and you will be bankrupt. With the PC, it was only $1400.

Please send me a private message if you saw and liked my sig.
