how to make a good thread.

now, before i begin, let me just say that i am no particular expert, just in my time on ng, i've learned some useful stuff.

1. as for a title, make it a summary of the topic, dont go " i like to..." then have the rest on the page or something like that..
2. the body should be fairly long and have a pic. the pic is not required, but it helps.
3. appeal to all ngers! porn lovers, violence lovers, retards, kids, etc. try to add things that catch the interest of everyone, or some as the case may be.
4. talk to your fellow ngers! if you find a response funny or offensive, respond!
4.5. not only does this help, it keeps the topic out there for more people to see.
5. try to avoid spelling wrong, most of newgrounds cant think of a decent response so they look for errors. if posts are key, then spell like a retard on pcp. this will attract posts. most are flames, but whatever.
6. put it in your sig! why not? every time you post, there is a chance you will get more posts for that thread.
7. OH MY GOD DO NOT SAY "come check out my userpage" EVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INSTANT DEATH or unpopularity.

It's really stupid that people around here just want to make successful threads regardless of the topic. A forum is a place where you can discuss stuff. Have something new to say? Make a thread about it. It's not like you profit from making a good thread.

How nice of you to remind us of this, but we really have no need for your help. We are all far more experienced than you, i'm afraid. If you, perchance, see someone who is a newb, you may want to link him to the BBS rules. They have a much more clear view of what you said and are much better.

Guidelines I try to follow:
1) Think before you post.
This applies to everywhere on the BBS, not just when creating threads.

It's not all about having many people commenting on your thread, it's about conversation and information. Is the thread topical? Good. Is it current? Better! Is it interesting? Fantastic. I don't know about you guys, but I tend to steer clear of threads where the OP is just begging for attention.
