Congrats guys.

Okay, whatever. Everyone knew I wanted top be an audio mod anyway.
Let me just be honest with you all.

I actually REALLY REALLY wanted it. Let me tell you why.
Not for the fancy gold aura that comes with it. I wanted to help out the site, I wanted to help tomorrow's NG musiscians get on here. I wanted to spend my time on here so I actually felt I was doing something useful. How pathetic it may sound, I spend like 90% if not more of my free time on Newgrounds. All wasted time, just lurking on the forums, and occasionally being useful by helping someone out with an FL question, or finding a stolen song and reporting it in the cleanup thread.

Also socializing, I see some of you as pretty close friends/mates, hoever you may find that pathetic.
I just want to tell you that I was prepared to (and hoping to do so) spend most of my time I'd be lurking and reading without any input, approving/banning first time submissions. I was actually going to put so much effort in it that there was barely a waiting line.

All I can say is: OH WELL.

I hope that other people can at least see where Mich here is coming from. I would be very disappointed as well under the same circumstances.

Well Mich let me say this. You are one of the most helpful users here on NG as is. If anything don't let this stop you from doing what you do. You just keep being the great fella you are!

ya man you don't have to be a mod to help people out - we do our part here and in the irc room - if anything people look up to you MORE as an unmodded user because you are so helpful and you don't have a fancy (and arguably useless) golden aura to go with it.

Although every little helps Mich, and I'm sure you would make an excellent mod, after doing it for a couple of days, I've realized that you can be much more helpful to people on the forums and the audio portal through other means - not that I'm saying you shouldn't want the position, but at the same time it's not some magical power that every time you approve a song you're fixing the portal!

Think about what us mods do. We approve or we ban. It's not much more than a glorified (but very necessary) blam/protect system as is in the flash forum, except instead of judging on quality, we judge on legality.

If you really want to help the users of Newgrounds, give them support on the forums, answer their questions regardless of if you also need to redirect them to a sticky. Go onto the AP, find a few tracks and leave helpful reviews - that's what I try to do, even with these extra tasks assigned to me!

I'll definitely vouch for you should more moderators be needed, but don't be bitter because you weren't picked out this time! You can make as much of a difference as any mod can just by being a regular user.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else on this one and I fully understand your disappointment MICH. You would make a great mod, but you're very respectable and contributing to the audio portal/forums even without a golden aura. :-)

Mich, i do have to agree with Khuskan, and although im not a mod myself, and dont have the slightest glimmer of hope to be one, i understand where he is coming from. I'd say you've been a pretty big helper in these forums, you respond regularly to the FL topic and other help wanted topics and such.

I think you all are very deserving to be in the mod team, I don't like, think that one of the four new ones should be demodded and me modded instead. I don't want power. I want the ability to help out more. Heck, I'd even like it just as much if my aura stayed as it is and my name wouldn't show up in the mod list. It's not for recognition.

my advice is just keep doing what you are doing - you are helping out the audio portal - you don't need a big shiny golden aura for that - and believe me - the audio mod seat isn't what you think it is. They get a link to a blam/save page with a list of pending users - which is a crackpot of all sorts of crap half the time, and they have access to the mod forums - that's pretty much it. Oh and they can go to mod meets :p

Don't worry, I do realize what audio moderators do; I talked to some on msn about that. What did you think I thought it was then? :p

Hmm. I think I agree with WB here. Even if it wasn't intended to be a "WAHH WHY DIDN'T THEY PICK ME?!" post, it was still a little tasteless to post it in the congratulatory forum. Regardless of intent.

You are definitely a helpful user, and I think I used one of your posts for something in the past as well. Keep that shit up, because in the forums add moderators occasionally, as well. I think you might be more suited to that anyways.

I understand the point being made of to never expect something that you should never expect to receive, but I still feel MICH's pain. Not because he didn't get modship in itself, but to see 4 new mods arrive.. it can feel ungrateful.

This whole debate is all reletive and opinion-based. I do not like how the mods are labeling that post as a 'step in the wrong direction'. MICH's motive is to help people out, that much is fact. If anything, I'd say he was getting his hopes up a bit because basically 80% of the lounge was saying what a great mod he would make.

Let me repeat this, I don't like the mods their response on this. Ironically it does not show off maturity on their part, it shows a strict and crafted robotic following of a rulebook in my opinion. Did not see that coming.
