You have no idea how badly some people are addicted to twitter, are you?
Well of course there are those who love twitter, but it is a minority. about 20%
Twitter won't go bankrupt, at least not in the foreseeable future. If anything, they're expanding. Even businesses are getting accounts to keep clients up to date. Popularity is skyrocketing. Even if 80% leave after a brief stint, you still have 20% left, and they're STAYING FOR GOOD. How many of the 1,750,000 or so NG profiles out there do you think are actual active individuals? Subtract the alts and inactive accounts, and we're much smaller.
the 20% of users who stay on NG forever are just a bonus for this site. It doesnt matter if people stay because people come to play a game, click adds, and every single time someone comes to this sit,e they come here to play games! And so they are going to play a game and they are going to come across an ad. Newgrounds gets paid for all these hits from the sponsors and people who put their ads on this site.
Twitter, however, doesnt have ANYTHING excpe a simple userpage with a line telling people what you are doing. Unless they add to the site, they are going to be in deep trouble.
As for ad revenue, Twitter has it made. Ad companies will go for top dollar to get ad space on twitter. Who says that Twitter's ad revenues are based on per click revenue? Most likely, it's a certain mount of money for a certain sized ad for a certain amount of time. It doesn't matter how many people click it.
Most of the imte now adays, thanks to googles policies, people tend to pay by the number of clicks on a website. This is so the company does not lose any money. Twitter does not recieve much money after they pay for the site costs.
