Okay newgrounds I'm on the morning of a successful all-nighter (with a reason, not just for fun), and I intend to "get up" around 8AM and start my day. It is now 6:55AM.

My question is:

Is it better to grab one hour of sleep or just power through?

Having a one hour nap could help give you a bit energy, but you'd have difficulties falling asleep and/or waking up.

Sunlight gives you energy, so you'll have more energy than you currently have, even if you do not sleep.

Four hours would be okay, one probably won't work. It will be VERY difficult to only sleep an hour, so if you have to be up for something you may as well stay up. Eat some food, intake some caffeine, move around, get some sunlight. It won't be so bad.

Eat and drink a lot. And don't ingest any caffiene, doing so will make your body feel very weak and shaky once it wears off, and you could wind up with a major headache afterwards.

If you sleep now, you either won't be able to wake up at 8:00 or you'll feel like total shit when you do wake up. Just stay awake.

Man, what keeps me awake for all nighters that I do every single day, is just music and just drinknig a little bit of caffeine. If you start to get tired around 5 or 6 am, try to go outside and watch the sun rise. It looks really cool, and it somehow keeps me awake :o

Having done both, while the difference between very little sleep (1-2 hours) and getting none at all is practically nothing, I prefer to get the little bit I can if possible.

Even putting my head down for a few minutes at a time when sleep-deprived gives me little energy boosts to get through the day. Ultra-short power-naps ftw.

ive done this several times, and its best to just not sleep, stay busy, but, if ya DO sleep, just dont enter REM sleep, sleep for like a half hour at most

Just stay up, you might as well, you already lasted this long.

My opinions are so useless, I don't even listen to them.

Powering through is the way to go. I have done quite a few all nighters, and if you pass out you are pretty much doomed. Eat food, make sure you don't rely solely on caffeine. Also make sure you keep yourself preoccupied, nothing like inactivity to make you conk out and ruin your all-nighter.

Next time someone tells you to "Leave room for the holy spirit.." ask them if they are implying you have a threesome.

Hmmm, well, I've been in this situation before, and I had a one hour nap and a shit load of coffee the next morning and I was, surprisingly enough, fine for school.

I agree with *points up to the quote above* THIS user.
Check it out. Worth trying if you have a strange schedule anyway.
I guess it helps if you don't have to operate heavy machinery for 8 hour shifts as well.
I would make sure NOT to exceed 30 minutes of sleep at a time IF you do, though.
*once again points to the quote above me*
