Isn't it sickening?

The death of a celebrity is more important for people to know than the deaths of children

nevermind it's just "date set for the memorial" not "MJ dead!"

Maybe two lines, but not 1000 words.

Anyways, Society values on what you have accomplished in your life, the chances are that nether you, nor I, nor the seven teens that got shot will be remembered for their accomplishments.

I know, newscasters need to get their priorities straight.

Yeah because a lot of people were listening to Jackson's music and they knew some thing about him, Jackson was entertaining a lot of people... But the 7 kids were completely uknown to everyone... Sick but true.

It's disgusting, but that's society for you. If people didn't worship celebrities the way they do, the media would be less inclined to treat them like they're something special.

There.

Other than the fact that the average joe cooks his meals, pays his bills, drives the cop cars that protect his land (yeah, what a joke), waters his flowers, walks his dogs, so on and so forth.

Will we ever see a headline that says "Michael Jackson's Gardener Pronounced Dead"? I don't think so. And compared to other, more common gardeners, that's a pretty big accomplishment if you ask me.

Some day, a signature will go here.

No I understand MJ's death was big news. The thing that bothers me is that this isn't even news about his death, it's simply an announcement of the date of his public memorial.

I wouldn't keep that glove knowing it fell in a toilet. I saw a documentary on MJ.
What's wrong with society? People are acting more and more corrupt. They are doing things now that are unheard of-like custom-making babies and tattooing billboard ads on people's skulls.

And women are dressing trashier and trashier.

the thing is, more peoples lives have been affcted than mj's life, even his death than those kids

sure those kids family's lives have been affected

sure those kids friends are grieving.

but millions of people around the world know mj

how many of those millions do you think cried when he died?

Even worse how you see this kind of situation EVERY DAY. Like, I've seen news stories about the events at the MTV Music Awards bump off stories about people, famous or otherwise, dying.

We are a very decadent society, and we're more interested in the activities of celebrities than what's going on here in the real world.

yea as other people have mentioned, the fact that its detroit didnt help.
Not only is america trying to make believe detroit doesnt exist but its so bad there that 7 kids dead isnt that big of a deal over there. I'm sure 14 were dead the day before.

facts are facts, if we showed every one who died who isnt know to the mass of people, no one would care, plus tv would suck ass as we know it.
