no really.... safari is a sad excuse for a browser... almost as sad as IE... firebox run better, had a lot of effective addons, and its stable... you couldn't pay me to get rid of FF

I've found Chrome to be faster than either of those. Safari 4 is the second fastest for me, and Firefox then comes third. Chrome has a few problems, but it's still a very good browser. Safari 4 has a few settings that seem quite interesting - you can make the font smoothing like a Mac.

I never was a huge fan of Firefox - it's okay. Not great, but it'll do. That's my opinion, but I'll prepare for flaming anyway.

Morons who use the arguement of Add-ons + the speed are forgetting one thing.

TOO MANY ADD ONS = SLOWER BROWSER.

Btw, idiots forgot one browser who actually beat FF. (I don't know about the 3.5, but I bet it is at the same level atm)

No really, I use FF as well, but Opera is still my main browser. Why? Because of its simplicty, or if you don't like simplicity (like you Add-on freaks) you can make it as complicated as hell.

Hell, you can even browse two websites at the same time.

i've just switched to Firefox 3.5 on my pc and i've noticed a difference right away, but Safari 4 on my mac is still fast.

overall firefox is great.

And if you mean anytime, do you also mean when I install all those colorfull addons? Because I checked the limit (on my not so powerfull laptop = anything) and I could only go up to a custom theme, and what 5? 6? addons?

Yeh, I like firefox alot, its easly for googling...It's good in its own way, but still...I've seen die hard FF fans (with alot of comp exp) enjoying, and loving opera for its handy user interface and its usefull features (who aren't just for fun, but are functional and speed up the browsing/lurkin).
Also, media works smoother and better in Opera (solid fact...On any OS, on any PC...Seen it on work on a Mac and on a PC with GeForce)

But this is all before the beta.
And screw the beta...I'll wait till the stable version comes out =D

Ah yeh Opera vs FF...the quoted user doesnt say anything about the beta so yeh...hence my post.

The news coming from the the bigger websites (Cnet, betanews) suggest that Chrome2 is set to wipe the floor with both Mozilla 3.5 and Safari 4. The beta testing of it puts it around 250ms quicker.

Never used Safari but I can tell the new Firefox is way faster than FireFox 3.

Safari is a lot faster than Firefox. I just installed it to see how fast people said it was and went on NG and it lagged behind Safari by a lot.

i don't know until i launch FF3.5 from bootup. if it takes forever like 3.0 did, i'm switching to chrome.

I thought Safari was pretty cool, but I had many issues with it, mainly its U.I, its slight clumsiness relative to Firefox, etc.

Now Firefox obtained the feature it needed most, pure raw speed.

I'm so glad Firefox has blossomed to its full potential, it's still my most favorite browser throughout all these years.

Actually, Chrome is statistically the faster browser. And Safari stole all the features from Opera, rebranded it, and labeled it innovative and special.
