not really. the fact that they just rip off of other bands work. their latest beatles album cover. of course they're not talented enough to write their own music.

Joy Division, of course. Ian Curtis was a manic genius. Dead Souls, Love Will Tear Us Apart, Atmosphere, etc.

Lou Reed is very clever and sharp with lyrics, especially the more political songs he wrote on the album New York - Strawman, Dirty Blvd., Hold On, etc.

Then you've got Pink Floyd obviously... take the whole fucking load of Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall. The older songs with Syd Barrett like See Emily Play are also sick.

Why didn't Nick Jonas go instead of Michael Jackson?
Why didn't the other 2 go instead of Farrah Fawcett and Billy Mays?
WHY!?

This is all interwoven between one guy screaming and one guy singing harmonically. It sounds amazing. This is one of my personal favourites of Alexisonfire, but I haven't seen a song where the lyrics are two-bit, 5-minutes jottings on a piece of paper. Part of the fun of the band is the complexity of the lyrics.

I agree AOF is an amazing band. They actually have THREE vocalists. The particular song you posted isn't one I'd consider one of their best though.

I'd go with something along the lines of .44 Caliber Love Letter, Crisis, or This Could Be Anywhere In The World.

If Apple Jacks aren't going to taste like real apples, then THEY CAN GET A REGULAR JOB LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE. >:(

Lord Worm era Cryptopsy.

A part of Adeste Infidelis:
Oh come all ye unfaithful,
Decaying and wretched,
To this Cradle of impiety
To lay your impure heads

Fare thee well
Or fare thee ill:
One way or another
Some blood shall spill

What to do?
Enter? Cremate
All those who've died from all the hate
From this Execrable Aggregate
That nurtures the corrupt?

Proselytes,
Anchorites,
Crusaders, wet me with your Cathar kiss

Bow to them?
Crawl for them?
Those loathsome Mahometic effigies?
No!

That. And The Flobots.

to me i think the flobots are similar to rage against the machine but without the funk and replace it with a more hip hop beat with a little bit of ska thrown in.

Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo:

Vulcanize the whoopee stick
In the ham wallet

Cattle prod the oyster ditch
With the lap rocket

Batter dip the cranny ax
In the gut locker

Retrofit the pudding hatch

If i get you in the loop when I make a point to be straight with you then
In lieu of the innuendo in the end know my intent though
I brazillian wax poetic so hypothetically
I don't wanna beat around the bush

In the squish mitten

Power drill the yippee bog
With the dude piston

Pressure wash the quiver bone
In the bitch wrinkle

Cannonball the fiddle cove
Ooh la la
With the pork steeple

Pink Floyd probably.

When they're not doing 6 minute interwoven instrumental passages and 4 minute guitar solos that is.

After SOAD broke up, I think Serj Tankian is awesome. Probably one of his best songs is Empty Walls. YouTube it, the video is great as well. But his whole album "Elect The Dead" is just amazing.

Damn, Im listening to it right now!
