Tonight I break my concert virginity by going to see one of the greatest living rock bands of all time. I'm literally shitting myself in excitement.

I've been told AC/DC are generally pretty fucking awesome live anyway, but considering this is the last leg in their Black Ice European tour there's bound to be something special planned.

I'm sitting here drinking cider listening to some old albums of theirs trying to get myself in the mood before I head out to the pub at about 15:00. The doors open at 16:00 but I'm not really concerned about the opening bands, I've never heard of The Answer or The Subways anyway so I'm just going to get fucking wrecked, rock the fuck out then come home and cause some trouble with the Mrs :)

Any advice for a concert virgin? First concert stories? Feel free to share.

For those about to rock!

I have a firm belief that this will be better than when I lost my sexual virginity all those many moons ago, though that wouldn't be terribly difficult to be honest.

How very lucky of you! The Subways are alright, probably there to give the youngsters something they're more familiar with.

Must have cost you quite a bit though.

Only £65. Since I haven't been to a concert before I don't know if that's good or not. It's affordable to me however.

I'm gonna see ACDC when they come to NZ in January 2010.

Anyway I went to my first concert a few months back. It was a Metallica cover band and they ROCKED. Here's some things you should know.

- There is a lot of shoving and pushing around the front area. Don't take it the wrong way, if someone pushes you, push them back. It's part of the fun!
- Go up the front. It's louder and more powerful.
- Beware of women. When they get drunk they can get rough.
- People will try to push in front of you. Don't let them, just stand your ground, they won't punch you.
- Make sure to nod your head to the song and hold your hand up with the devil horn symbol.
- Bring a lighter and wave it to the slow songs.
- Stay away from people with drinks, chances are they're gonna spill it.
- Don't leave your belongings anywhere unless you wanna lose it.
- Don't bring in a jacket or sweater, it gets pretty fucking hot in there.

Hope this helps. Don't forget to wear an ACDC T-shirt. And try to get an autograph.

!!!FUN FACT!!! My Dad named me Malcolm (Colledge) after the Bass player in ACDC, Malcolm Young.

If Heavy Metal is so evil, why would God create it? BECAUSE I FUCKING TOLD HIM TO, BITCH!!

Age/Gender: 26, Male. And you're still a concert virgin? Wow...

Oh well, at least you're seeing one of the greatest bands of all time. I'm pretty sure I'd trade in all of the concerts i've been to (not that many) for that one...

Writhing in envy...

Nothing incredible happened at my first concert. It was The Killers playing, and the lead singer broke up a fight, which I later learned was staged.

However, at my second concert I got caught in the middle of a fight between 2 large biker-looking guys. Before I knew what happened, fist the size of my head were flying to the left and right of my face. Luckily a friend close-by is extremely lengthy, and used his arms to pull me to safety.

Well, be ready for an excited press of angry and emotional rockers. Watch your head for crowd surfers, as steel toe caps can leave a nasty mark or two on your head.

It's been a while since I went to a gig - 6 years, when I caught Alice Cooper in Birmingham. Still, I'm going to right that, by seeing him in Wolverhampton in December :)

Unless you call Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds a gig, then I've only been to one ;) I think it counts though, as it's still and amazing spectacle, even if someone did try to throw a toilet roll at the end - bloody Birmingham City fans, anyone would think they were in the Premier League!

Getting away from the gig could be a problem - car parks do tend to clog up for a good half hour afterwards. Also, be sure to use the facilities before going in, you won't get a good place back if you chicken out mid-gig. If you're with friends at that time, you will lose them.

Just kidding. You're entitled to your own opinion, but I can't see why AC/DC is even so famous or liked.

My Dad went to a Motorhead concert last year, and afterwards he even met them, talked with them and they also signed his Motorhead jacket.

I've seen Iron Maiden and Rush both at the NEC so some things I've noticed.
1) Eat and drink beforehand, the food usually costs an extortinate amount and you don't want a minor annoyance like that spoiling to event.
2) As it's ACDC I doubt it's the sort of event moshers will go to, bearing in mind Trivium opened for Maiden and moshing sadly ensued....if some idiots do decide to do it than it's best to tell them or simply find a better spot, me and my friends simply moved where less people were and we had perhaps a better view than before.
3) Don't feel stupid about singing as loud as sodding possible, at first you might have aprehensions but seeing as everybody else will be doing it.
4) Just have fun, don't let your mind wander or go 'AWW only 2 songs left', be part of the moment and don't do anything to ruin it for other folks.

Hope that helps somewhat, I would actually stab a baby to see ACDC but it's a shame they only chose a stupidly small amount of venues and tourdates.

So they made me their chief...which was nice.

Typical bands are £40 or so, so for a band with the status of ACDC, thats pretty good value.

Man, I wish I could go to a concert, but by the time I begin to drive, or even have the money for concerts, music will be shit.
