If you're reading this I'm guessing you love video games, but do you seriously love them so much that you'll bash on people that don't have the same console as you?! This so called 'console war' is the biggest load of donkey crap I've ever heard of. What is the fucking point?! People have their own opinions. That's the amazing thing about freedom of speech. The right to have your own opinions on certain matters. What's that? They don't play the same consoles as you? Who cares?! Congrats on owning the supposedly 'BEZT CUNSOUL IN TEH ERATHZ!!'. Shame on them if they're missing out on all the great fun of pressing a few buttons on a controller.

I'm pretty sure that they will change their mind of company-preference if you e-yell loud obscenities at them. Makes perfect sense doesn't it? No, it doesn't. Sony, SEGA, Nintendo, and Microsoft made those consoles for one specific reason: To produce enjoyable activities and games to those who love virtual entertainment. Not so that people can make ridiculous arguments over which one wins over the other. By fueling the console war you are slowly deteriorating the fabric of what playing video games is all about. Having fun, enjoying a game with your mates, and of course, getting pointless awards for completing over-looked tasks! But if you really want to continue trying to change people's minds over which machine out PWNS the others? Be my guest. While you're doing that I'm going to go enjoy a few rounds of Guitar Hero on my Nintendo Wii.

Young teenagers usually don't have the money to get all three consoles so they'll settle on getting just one of them.

Because the other two are locked off to them, they have to constantly reassure themselves that they made the right choice, and that their console was the one to buy.

This becomes such a strong feeling that any mention of the worth of the other consoles becomes a shock to their little world, and they have to vent their anger in order to restore balance, and once again convince themselves that they have made the right choice.

I couldn't agree more. I've always seen console wars as idiotic. I don't mind if people are only interested in one console, but bashing the other consoles and claiming the console they have is the best in every way is absolutely pathetic. If there's a console that doesn't give me enough interest, I'll just leave it and carry on playing games I enjoy. And yes, video games are supposed to be about having fun but thousands have forgotten that purpose.

The console war was fun, I used to enjoy reading about it and talking with friends about our debating consoles. The only difference today is that people take it too seriously, back then, it was just a fun little gimmick. I've played good snes games, but I still loved my Genesis and vise versa for my friends.

i think console wars are hilarious because everyone bitches about whick is better and i just sit and laugh because while they're all playing their 360's PS3's and Wii's i'm playing my Super Nintendo, Genesis, N64, and occasionally my PS2 and Gamecube.
i think console wars can be dumb but i used to take part of them when people would shit on the Gamecube bu i wasn't really bad like my friends are.

PS3 is an over expensive, gameless piece of shit with terrible online.

360 is a RRODing, awkward controller having piece of shit with a terrible online you have to pay for.

Wii is a childrens piece of garbage, that no real gamer would ever play, with stupid gimmicks, and not a single game which isn't wotrhless shovelware.

PC is gobshite, which too many buttons, laggy online, too many hacks, and has to be updated every fucking week to play the new games.

First of all, too many buttons is a very retarded thing to say. If you're that stupid, you can just plug in a 360 controller. Second of all, The online is laggy if you have a shitty internet service or if the host lives in another country. Third of all, hacks are not the issue anymore, I play CSS 10-20 hours a week and a hacker will come in once the whole week, if even that. If you're playing on a decent server, the hacker will be kicked and banned. Fourth of all, Updates come once a month at the most and they only take 30 seconds unless you're playing WoW. I really doubt you've had a good gaming PC sir.

Here's a post I made from another thread on how I feel, because I know you care.

Quite frankly both extremes of the "fanboy spectrum" are fucking idiots. Both consoles have their ups and downs, and really it all depends on what you're looking for. The PS3 may work out better for some, maybe because it offers things like built in wireless, which you don't have to pay $100 for an adaptor for(which already boots the price up you paid for the 360 to the same level as the PS3, anyway, unless of course you get the arcade.) Because some people have their console in a different room from their connection to the internet. If you happen to be able to use wires, then that's perfectly fine too. Fuck, if you don't mind paying the $100, for a wireless adapter, do it.

Also, the use of batteries in the controller may be a plus for some, because if they're low on battery and don't feel like recharging their controller, they can just change them quickly. Some people may get a PS3 for the bluray, but others may get their 360 and just stream netflix instead. Also, if you'd prefer to not pay for your online multiplayer, then go with the PS3. If you don't mind paying for online, and you'd rather go with the 360, then do that. Also, the fact that you seem to be able to use more 3rd party stuff with PS3(like harddrives, headsets, or even using a charger with a miniUSB end for the controllers, such as *some* phone chargers) could be nice for some people too.

Really it's not that hard people. It's 12:45 in the morning/night(45 minutes past midnight), and I'm rather tired, so that was probably poorly typed up or expressed, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say. There are too many god damn idiots polluting video game discussions though.

In no way is that true. I've had my Playstation 3 since it came out, and I havn't had to replace it, I've had no problems with it, and t's fine with me.

Not really... I don't consider phones to be game consoles.

Also, the term console has always been used to distinguish between PCs and the boxes you plug into your tv solely for videogames. Judging by the way technology is advancing, I think the term "console" is already becoming a little archaic and really lose all meaning in the coming generations of hardware. If a console is a dedicated videogame machine, then they already aren't consoles, considering the amount of functionality the 360 and PS3 have. I guess their main function is still gaming, so the term console still applies sort of. As consoles gain more functionality, they'll really only be called consoles out of habit. If something like OnLive takes over, it'll be just be a service.
