4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsI been thinking about this for a long time, and I can't help but wonder if I should by CS4.
Now I currently use Flash MX 2004, and I've been using it for about 3 or 4 years now. I have a Vista
(Yes, I get Flash MX to cooperate on Vista, so don't bother saying anything about it)
I have no-problems with it, except being limited down to do certain effects, such as blurs and such. I use Photoshop for that though. However, I can't help but wonder if it would be more easier to just get CS4. Should I buy it or just continue with what I got?
That's really a problem you gotta solve on your own, there.

I'm just asking for some help, since most NG users could use CS4 Themselves
I use flash 8 and recently got a cs3 trial and didn't like it at all, I suggest getting the trial realizing you don't like it and just stick with what you got.
Trust me, you probaly won't like it ;)
But what do I know?

I did try the Trail a while ago, I didn't really like some of it, I was too distracted by the bone tool though XD
Yeah, I guess I'll stick with what I got
Thanks for the help

I don't recommend that. If you have enough money and it's not a problem, upgrade to CS4. Aside from the bone tool (which can be used to make awesome smooth character animations if you use it right) there's also all the filters you need, AS3, flash player 10 (the last one is ten right?) and tons of other stuff. It WILL make animating, programing and collaborating (no more version problems) much easier.
I tried the trial and didn't like it very much, but that was because I wasn't used to it. I gave it another go, kept trying and now I can't think of using any other version.
The only valid reason to get CS4 is to upgrade to ActionScript 3.0, which I would highly recommend you do. The superfluous new additions such as inverse kinematics and filters are just minor upgrades and in no significant way (in my opinion) adds to the functionality of Flash.
At the very least upgrade to CS3 though, as the improvements in programming language alone makes it worth it.

i agree with this guy. it all really comes down to personal taste, and anyone else trying to say anything different is the same as someone pushing a religion on you. every version has its ups and downs.
plus if you solve it on your own, it's a lot easier than asking us.if you ask us, then we'll all be arguing about which version is the best, a few people will flame, and it all just gets really annoying.
it all comes down to personal preference.

The main thing with MX, is that there are no filters... thats the thing that makes 8 and up worth it.
