Alright guys, I am beginning to believe that any of these days could be my last.
That may sound silly right now, it probably does, but I am beginning to actually believe it...

A few days ago I began getting a very sore throat, and a horrible cough, this was also around the time that I quit smoking, which was five days ago, (yay). The cough is really bad, it kills my lungs basically every time, I can barely inhale much to breathe during my cough attacks.
I am having very painful body aches, I have always had pretty bad back problems, along with my neck, but I am getting a very sharp pain in my back that is hurting me as I type this, it feels like something is literally stabbing in to it.
I am having diarrhea constantly, and it won't stop, it's been occurring for days now.

To top that off, my nose is very stuffed up at some points, and also very runny, this morning I woke up to find that when I blew nose all the snot was covered in blood, but only from one nostril, the other nostril just has normal flem.

Do you guys know what could be wrong with me? I do have swine flu symptoms, but I am afraid to go to the doctor, they can't help swine flu, I'd rather sit here, see my friends, and die eventually.

don't worry, these things happen to people who quit smoking due to the lack of nicotine in your body system, try cutting down instead of stopping all together

don't worry

Wow, um, you should really go to the doctor...

Wait, you want to die right? Nevermind, then.

That's why you don't go cold turkey on cigarettes

First just cut it down. Maybe smoke half as much you used to. Slowly wein yourself off it.

Then you're an idiot. how many people on NG do you think have a degree in medicine? Just suck it up, and tell the doctor everything, even if it's embaressing. Being slightly embaressed towards someone you barely know is much better than dying slowly and painfully.

From the sound of it, it culd be a bad case of swine flu, which they can give you stuff for, or a throat infection. The latter can be lethal if not checked out so GO SEE A DOCTOR!

You just quit smoking. When someone quits, since their body, like, NEEDS it, they get sick. You'll get over it.

Well, either that or start smoking again. Or get nicotine patches!! They always help! *rolls eyes*

* Cravings to smoke
* Irritable, cranky
* Insomnia
* Fatigue
* Inability to Concentrate
* Headache
* Cough
* Sore throat
* Constipation, gas, stomach pain
* Dry mouth
* Sore tongue and/or gums
* Postnasal drip
* Tightness in the chest

Those are the nicotine withdrawal symptoms, and I basically have all of them, this sucks though... None of my friends went through these, why am I? Damn it, at least I know I'm not going to die or anything now.

It's just withdraw, you need to fight it and stay nicotine free, I know that is harder then it sounds, so I with you luck.

Thanks for the help you guys, do you think it would make it easier if I took even a puff or two of a cigarette just to help my body calm down a bit?

When I jones out, I get different symptoms.

- Thirst that can't be quenched.
- Shaky.
- Moody.
- paranoia

Maybe it's because I'm addicted to Mountain Dew.

As some of the other users have said, slowly stop smoking, otherwise you're gonna give yourself cold turkey. So maybe a puff or two, might help calm yourself down. But if you can go all the way without smoking, it'd probably be better imo

NO. Get advice from a doctor, and proper prescription patches. (Sorry I didn't say that in my last post)
