Been a while, fishhook.

Pretty sure you need a DSi to play music. And even then, only a certain file type.
But you'd only need a Micro SD.

Warshark is fucking awesome.

To do what you want, you would need the flash card, and a media type of a significant size that the flash card uses. The R4 card you want uses a micro SD card. You put the flash card (R4) into the game slot of the DS and you put the micro SD into a slot on the R4. Hoped that helped.

You cannot get them from there, or Ebay, sorry that i forgot to mention that. You can only get them from specialized gaming websites, like www.consolesource.com .
I got mine from modchipstore.com , but they sell fakes, are overpriced, and are late shipping the product. www.consolesource.com is much better.

I got my R4 chip a couple of months back from http://www.buycardshop.com/ and it came pretty quickly, no complaints whatsoever.

£17 with a 2gb card seems like a reasonable deal to me.

And that comes with a MicroSD USB adaptor thing, so you only need to buy that and then you're already good to go.

£17 for 2GB? if you bought it you got ripped off, I just checked Amazon for 2GB SD Card and first result was for £2.40.

I bought an M3DS Real, supports SD and SDHC cards and an SD/SDHC-to-USB converter, came pretty fast.

Once you get it you have to download some System files which you put straight onto the SD card, then you make a second folder called "nds" which is where you place your games.

Lol.

All you do is buy a chip. Most of these chips include everything you need, except maybe an SD card. After that you stick the chip in your computer via a USB cable, drag and drop music into a folder. Put the chip in your DS. Huge success.

I've been refurbished and reissued, prepackaged and precooked, decontaminated and deloused, but I still smell, sound, look and feel like shit.

Naw, £17 for the R4, and it came with a 2GB Micro SD card. Compared to the R4 vanilla from the same site, that's £4, which is approx what I'd expect to pay, given P&P.

I paid a pretty hefty sum for my CycloDS Evolution, though it came with a 4GB microSD. I still feel like I could've gotten essentially the same thing by getting the R4 or Acekard, but that's in the past.

OP: I'm almost certain all storage devices you can buy for the DS do not have a homebrew application pre-installed that would play media files. I'd suggest Moonshell, which can play videos, music, and display images. Here's a guide on how to install it to a flash cart.
