I also saw it yesterday, and I thought it was pretty damn good. Michael Bay must have had one hell of a budget to make this.

Screw the plot, you're not going to find much besides something cliche they could have dug up from just about anywhere. This isn't one of those thought-provoking movies that give you a lot to think about after the film is done. You watch this for the insane action sequences, the special effects, and the combat. Yes, both Transformers movies have cheesy attempts at humor, and they fail at trying to get an emotional storyline going. There is little to no sensible romance in this. The dog-humping gets old very fast, and you really get to hate Sam's parents. But again, you're not watching this for the humor or the plot. If you are, yes, you'll be disappointed, and yes, you'll think the movie sucked. No, you're watching this to see Autobots and Decepticons tear the hell out of each other, along with all the other military combat going on in the meantime. You're watching this to see robot faces getting ripped apart, M1A1s and M6 Linebackers getting flung around and Black Hawks getting thrown right out of the sky. If you don't like this kind of action, yes, you're watching the wrong movie.

I think the best highlights are the special effects, the combat sequences, and the musical score by Steve Jablonsky. These are what makes the Transformers movies what they are, something for action and combat enthusiasts to enjoy.

Don't pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.

I'm not a die-hard Transformers fan, but I am a man who loves movies with good plots. This wasn't one of them. I realize that they were trying to appeal to the majority of the crowd, but the jokes were extremely cliche, and the fight scenes could have been better.

I like movies with great stories and great action. It's even better when you manage to get both of them in the same movie, but I'd easily settle for one or the other if they're done extremely well. Plot is average but still climactic, and slightly jumbled I'm sorry to say. But the action...the action. My brain turns to mush half-way through the movie and I'm so enamored that I don't care about the plot or the annoying side-characters or the repeated ATTEMPTS at laughable crude humor. But I did love this movie, and anyone willing to turn your brain off for two-and-a-half hours will love this too. Dumb fun is still fun.

I found myself wondering when it would finally end. I mean it was in like mostly every scene they had to run some where or go here or there. To much location. Stop and have a breather. I was mostly bored out of my socks when the credits started rolling.

that's why i didn't go see it, all i saw in the previews (and the first movie) was a bunch of corny lines, and shitty comic relief.

at first i thought the first one was a great movie (i'm talking about the 07' release), but after i watched it a second time i found it to be quite "lame". so i had not anticipation of seeing this one, and the fan-base of preppy teenagers that haven't watched the original cartoon (or appreciated the series untill shia lebouf came along) turned me away from seeing the movie as well.

They kind of went overboard with the humping jokes. And the low toilet humor for this one. A lot of the jokes were forced and as always Megan Fox can't act for shit.

Oh yeah, that character that was hanging around with Megan and Sam (his college room mate), he was irritating throughout the whole movie.

He should of died, that would make a perfect ending.

I love the new movie. My only complaint is they killed my two favorite characters; the cat and the scorpion.

When I go see most movies I leave my brain at the door so to speak, I really enjoyed this it had ALOT of humor. It really was overall well made, some things could be done better.. soundwave ( the satellite) fucking TENTACLE RAPES other satellites for information FOR FUCKS SAKE. It was rather lulz to watch.

I likes the construct a con, devastator, the huge dog/ape type monster that combines with like 4 or 5 others to make the one huge vacuum beastie ^-^ He was epic. Big, bad, and rather OMFG o.o WTF kill it kill it KIIILLLL IT!!!!!

A lot were. But there were some well timed gems.

"Coz youse a pussy" *bump* - was good.

"You mean that orange smoke?" ... "It wasn't my best throw, okay?" was that black dude's best line (most of all his others were pretty crap, I'd agree).

The "ninja blend" chatter from the Twins made me chuckle.

Sam's mom getting stoned was pretty hilarious.

On the whole, the comic relief played well IMO. It wasn't SUPER FUNNY, but it was a good counterpart to the explosive doom death. The low brow humour could have been left out, but a LOT of people at the theatre loved it.

On the topic of emotion: the whole "say I love you" stuff fell pretty flat, yes.

The most emotional part for me (and I wholly felt it succeeded) was when Sam's dad was telling Sam not to go. It was a nice role reversal from the beginning of the movie and the dude who plays Sam's dad conveyed the emotion quite well.

Other than that I don't recall my heartstrings being plucked.

Random note: None of the action sequences or "epic" shots gave me goosebumps, as LOTR did every time without fail. I think that's a good gauge of intense cinematography , for me at least.

Ya know, I've watched it and the new terminator. And I found my friend's dad advise to be sound. "When you're watching stuff like this, you need to switch off your brain." That way, you'll be entertained by the sheer amount of explosions in the movie.

Personally, I'd say you're full of shit because my buddy who's a hardcore 80s Transformers fan said it was awesome. There are some characters he would have liked expanded like the autobot chick and the RC twins, but all in all he said it was pretty badass.

ITS A MICHAEL BAY FILM.

Not only that it is a SEQUEL to a Michael Bay film. Expect nothing but explosions and helicopters at a sunset. It doesn't have to have an intelligent script or follow in line with previous canon.

Well I wont claim to be the high and mighty movie critic, but I do work at a movie theatre and I've taken acting/film classes.

I enjoyed the movie.

I loved the battle scenes. I don't know who the hell thought that they weren't memorable, but the forest scene kicked ass, and all the others were great too.

While I agree the plot wasn't the most original and intriguing thing I've seen in the past year, I would say that it wasn't bad. It made sense, there was a constant flow, and the movie never really diverged from it. One thing I know many people are upset about, myself included, is that the other transformers didn't get as much screen time and maybe said three lines at best. That was pretty disappointing. But you have to understand that from a film/story standpoint, the creator has to make characters that the audience can relate too, in this case, the humans. Hence they get more screen time, in order for the audience to connect and feel engaged, they have to develop these characters. Although in the case of T2, they still could have given the bots more lines.

Here's one thing that is either a love or hate issue. The humor. Understand that the movie is trying to appease with all audiences (to many imo). The humor was to be a relief for the story. In MY opinion, I could have done without the twins, without the dogs, and without the stupid humping robot. I don't think they should have taken out the S7 agent, cause even though he's meant as a comic relief, that's a still a personality and character trait, as apposed to a forced joke. I would have liked to see the movie in a more serious light.

But here's the thing. I go into movies with ZERO expectations. I did however expect some good action, but it delivered. You can't expect everything to go your way, because you aren't the one making the film.

All in all. I liked the movie. I would say two thumbs up because I felt that it was entertaining and that I would see it again.

Raptr - To be added at a later date.

Are you retarded?

I don't think he would store it in his closet for two years, and not reflect upon the time he had from before.

The forte of Shia Leboeoeoeuf is that you are never surprised when characters he plays do something stupid or nonsensical.

Aside from that, He goes to a certain college and is met by the college girl which is actually a robot/Decepticon.

Wow that's hot. How this related to Transformers in any way, shape or form? No idea. I guess Michael Bay always wanted to direct a Terminator movie but never could because God wouldn't allow it, so now he's taking his revenge.

I'll skip the bots that have over-exaggerated features (the two twin bots, oldass bot with a cane, etc).

Yes, old robots. That was a fun concept from the original. Kup was like 70 million years old ( no kidding ). Hot Rod was only, like, 30 million apparently. What a little youngster.

I understand that Michael Bay was trying to add humor with these personalities, but he added so much that it took away from the actual story itself.

Nah he's not to blame for that.
The guy who did Gollum is to blame for that. He's the poster child for every mo-cap asswipe who ham up their part to a point where you feel bad for their mental retardation.
You just imagine them sitting in the stupid black suit with ping-pong balls in a stupid wildly gesturing and speaking crazy imaginary lines about cubes and rings.

Comments?

Yes, why did you waste any money on that? You know you're only encouraging the further desecration of cool things, right?
Now they've raped G.I.Joes too. Keep going to those movies and they won't stop until captain planet is an alien from the future who wears a robot jumpsuit and has to save the earth from terrorists.

racially insensitive idiots a human going to robot heaven and excessive toilet humor. People who enjoy these movies either haven't seen any good ones or haven't seen enough bad ones if they are entertained by it.

I have sen plenty of both and I'm still a casual moviegoer and I'm avoiding seeing any more of this movie then I did, and I'm avoiding ever watching any of it again.

Personally, I loved it, I think it was the best one out of the two, it was hilarious, I especially liked the Twin's humour, and Sam's Mum being stoned, but I was kinda shocked that Jetfire was an old bot, and not a new-appearance, well, he was in a way. :P It was great to see some robots from the 80's such as RC, but triplets? Sweet. I especially liked the fact that Soundwave was a satellite, that was cool. ;) Oh and it was great to see the Destructicons.

But the thing that bothered me was Bumblebee's voice box thingy was broken..again, and yet Ratchet fixed it in the first movie? IIRC. But it was funny that he used the radio to speak and sing, haha.

I hope they bring Omega Supreme, or even Fortress Maximus! out in the next movie, it'd be good to see them, but I wonder what the next plot would be? Perhaps a trip back to Cybertron?
