the intro of Left 4 Dead. They made it look really good and real etc but I found Francis' voice especially when he says the vomit stinks to look really bad, he moves his mouth far to wide than anyone would to say the words he does. At least to me anyway I think it looks terrible, but funny still.

Street Fighter 2 has bad lip syncing. All the time I play that game, when Ryu shouts, shoryuken or hadouken, he just keeps his mouth open. No lips move.

1. A lot of Japanese developed games come out with decent to great English lip sync.
2. Having it made in Japan does not guarantee perfect Japanese lip sync
3. People who haven't played the game would have no sure clue the English adaptation to have a Japanese VO setting.

At some points during some cutscenes you would see the lip syncing be great! However Square also got lazy and just made their mouthes move and fill in speech without lip syncing. Why did they do this?

It was a Playstation 2 and they did lip syncing for most of the cutscenes and yet sometimes they just slacked off.

i do believe the lip syncing is for the Japanese version ya tard. Its called english dubbing.

I guess that would be because Burst Limit was animated for the Japanese, and the Americans just did a half assed job at fixing it up for the English dub.

The Avatar game on the 360. You can see how bad the lip syncing there is. The characters mouths don't even move.

Anno 1701 on the DS is also a poorly lip synced game. I know the DS doesn't have much processing power, but still. The Advisor's mouth looks like he's saying 'Blah, blah, blah' repeatedly.
