Foxnews has a video of Billy Mays talking about his close call when his US Airways flight blew a tire. He says something hit him in the head pretty hard, but he has a hard head. Maybe, but it probably was bleeding inside his skull and it ended up killing him. Here he is pointing to where he was hit in the head. He looks kind of dazed in the video.

That's just what I was thinking too.
The way it looks to me, the cause of Billy Mays' death could very well have been an epidural hematoma, much like Natasha Richardson did earlier this year.

What if we filled a big vat with Orange Glo, Oxiclean, Kaboom, etc, and lowered Billy Mays into it with chains made from Might Putty? Would it bring him back to life, or just clean him up nice?

That's actually a fantastic idea. Let's do it, but not exceed a budget of $19.95. Billy Mays wouldn't want us to exceed that amount.
