I have a phobia of them too. My dad always tries to force me onto one. I went to Alton Towers last month. Dad forced me to go on almost EVERY SINGLE ROLLER COASTER THERE!!! I was scared to death of them. I was spared from one ride though. Enterprise. God that looked scary beyond words.
When I say I'm bored with something or someone, I mean it. Feel free to PM to me if you want, I don't bite. Well, I didn't last I checked D=

Its amazing how you might be afraid of these things then the second you hit the first crazy loop or what ever you want it to never end. Don't worry about it, you can't not like a roller coaster, its like riding shotgun with a drunk driver in a skatepark.
For my next trick, I will need a condom and a volunteer.

First one is the worst. Make sure you push on the front of the car when you go down the first drop, it makes it less scary.

Thanks. I'm guessing you've been on it?
Also guys, another question.
What do you guys do to make the lift hill less scary? E.g. close eyes.

Actually yes, I am. I don't know, I just find them scary, never really got used to it. I think the fact that I may loose my phone or something might fall out of my pocket or some shit like that scares me too.

Of course they're scary, you're cheating death. Thousands of people go on this pepsi rideeveryday, yet you think you're gonna be on the one cart that crashes?(the first time ever btw) I think the only legitimate reason to be scared of a roller coaster is if you're freakishly thin or morbidly obese. Other than that go on the ride like everyone else pussy. :D

Every time someone goes on a rollercoaster scared, he/she will come off it with a smile.
This isn't the best example, but I saw a little kid get on a rollercoaster i've gone on that has a 90 degree angle drop, 200 feet in the air, and kicking, screaming, and crying like he was getting raped. When we finally got off the ride, he kept jumping and laughing and telling his mom how awesome that ride was.

The only way to absolve your fear is to stand in front of a moving rollercoaster.
It will stop, and you will know you have beaten the beast.

Im actually pretty scared of most rides. I have this weird phobia of when im not controlling something I get freaked out. I do all sorts of crazy shit when I ride bikes, skateboard, ski, snowboard, or even when I drive cars...but for some reason when I can't control the ride I get freaked out.

There are certain rules, I know that.
First of all, don't be seated in the front. And then there's some shit about focussing on the background and not on the cart. But I'm not sure if it is that way or the other way around.

I'm more intimidated by Steeplechase. It looks a bit painful.
The rides. The Shows. The Fun. The Thrill. The Joy. The Spirit. The Adrenaline. Spectacular.

That and Grand National are the most painful rides at Blackpool.
Be scared.

There is more to that shit hole than the roller coasters, even though thats about all there is worth doing there. Just tell them you dont want to go on them, plain and simple.

EUGH, I know the pains of old wooden roller coasters. I remember going on The American Scream Machine at Six Flags a few years back and wishing the ride was over after the first drop. Huge pain in my back at the bottom of each hill.

I saw that amusement park once. They put it in Roller Coaster Tycoon, one of the expansions of the original.
Try laughing off the fear.

I love roller coasters and I was a bit nervous too my first time.
Doing that is the only thing that makes me sick on a roller coaster.
Also, to help, find out what the slowest coaster there is beforehand, and ride it first. I wouldn't recommend something like Kingda Ka for a first-time rider.

Remember, it's why they're called thrill rides. It's supposed to scare you.

Maybe this'll help some people. I'm not scared because of my safety. Yes i'd prefer something better than a lether belt and a iron bar but oh well.
It's the fucking lift hill. Sooo scary. The rest of the ride i will enjoy. I think...
