I've been playing for 5 years but this is my first tremolo bridge so this is a learning experience to say the least. hehe.

Ahh, there's your problem.
Now with the helping bit.
Floyd Roses use a double locking trem system which means it won't let your guitar go out of tune (brilliant!) except you can't tune it yourself either... What you should find are some little knobs that need twisting on the floyd, these should loosen it, allowing you to tune your guitar. Then all you have to do is re-tighten teh knobs and you're good to go.
However! Mine is not an actual Floyd Rose, so it may vary, mine is come other bridge that uses a similar mechanism, so be wary!
But seriously, why would you buy a Xiphos? I don't mind the shape, ut the xpt700 and it's shitty, ugly red chameleon? It's just hideous!
After realising how useless I was, I decided to do some reasearch.
This tells you how to tune a Floyd Rose properly.
i'm sorry to bring this up again. i was half asleep while posting. it's an edge III.
