i'm using flash cs3 so it might be called different names under the tabs but here is how you do it in cs3. click the symbol. then press the folling tabs modify>transform>flip horizontally

That feature is in Flash 8 as well. Just modify and flip horizontally

There's a button named "Modify" in the top bar. Next to "File" "Edit" etc... Then transform then flip.

yeah you can't miss it. if you look right up the top of the scrreen you see the name of the porgram underneath that are the buttons or as people normally refer to as tabs. there is one called modify. press it. then the one called transform. and then the one called flip. there is two. i can't tell you waht one you want as i don't know what way you want it to flip.

you can also use the free transform tool and drag the left or right anchor point past the center, depending on the way you want it flipped
