Lots of "Heyy :):)" and stuff goes around the girls I know. Our language is eroding.

I don't know why you guys mind it so much. Do you guys talk in complete proper english and monoton in real life?

I know it gets annoying if it's overused but I never have that problem because my friends are all adults but you know it's quite useful actually.

Yeah, my friend does that a lot. If I'm texting her she has to repeat every letter at least 5 times. I don't understand it at all.

it makes me frustrated that they couldn't just type it usually. The type of frustration like "grr, get on with it" whilst your stuck behind a fat person on the stairs.

I'll admit I've done this before, but not very often.

If I ever say "lol" with more than one "o" then it's 3 at the max.

What annoys me is how they typically only do it on the last letter to emphasize the word instead of doing it for the letters that make the sound that they're trying to emphasize. For example, instead of emphasizing the word "what" as "whaaaaaat", they go "whattttt". IT'S JUST PHONETICALLY WRONG.

It's damn annoying.

Yes that is so annoying.. I can understand doing it every once and a while to emphesize a word. But some people(like my cousin) I've see do it every word or at the end of every sentence. Ugh that it so annoying.

I only type like that to try and be funny. (I always failed miserably.) But saying that mostly girls do it is sexist. I see more boys type like tttthhhhhiiiiisssss and girls do.

If you want emphasis, put it in CAPS or use better ADJECTIVES or better ADVERBS or descriptive VERBS or in DIFFERENT COLOR or in BOLD, ITALICS or UNDERLINE. Extending letters only makes it hard to read the shit which is worse than typing it properly.

TL;DR: Be concise in what you're saying.

Only dumbasses need emphasis so that they won't miss any key words. If people are smart, they would read EVERY SINGLE word and (most of the time) know it's emphasized without these bullshit 'techniques' to emphasize shit.

TL;DR (entire post): Read every single word in a post. Stretching words interferes with communication.
