Everyone was telling me it is only for chicks and it is gay and sucks ass, but honestly, the movie wasn't that bad. Never read the book, never will, but the movie was worth watching. In my opinion, that girl is fucking beautiful.

If you didn't watch the movie/read the book, keep your mouth shut.
I didn't do both but I at least I didn't complain about it.

My girlfriend has fallen in love with the books and has watched the DVD twice.
From what I've seen and heard of it, it really doesn't appeal to me. I have no problem with other people liking it, unless they were screaming about it in my face or something, which hasn't happened... yet.

The book does suck. Here's a little example, one of the many, that makes this series truely effluent:
He said. She said. They said. He said.
She clutters the book with the least imaginative way of talking. And there's like 4 a page.

It's actually a pretty good book. I didn't understand the plot until I really thought about it. You know how in the old vampire legends, vampires had some control over their victims? Twilight is masterfully written from the point of view of a character (Bella) who no longer has any free will, and believes everything that Edward wants her to believe (like werewolves being evil). Best book ever.
