Does anyone know where to get a good music box soundfont? I need one that i could use for sad songs, or just in general for my music. I was browsing around and didn't see any threads like this one so I decided to make one, but if you know of one please send me a link. thanks in advance =D.

seems like a music box would be pretty simple to synthesize with a basic synth.

If someone can post a general link to one that'd be cool
It would be a nice thing to have.

It would be fairly simple, but seeing as i'm not too good at synthesizing (at all) and i want a legit, authentic feeling music box, a sounfont would be best. if your really good at synthesizing you could make one that sounds real, but the authenticity of a real instrument can't ever really be beaten by a synth.

funny you should talk about authenticity yet ask for a soundfont.
Still, though, I want, I want.

after fiddling with that, it sounds less like a music box than what I was able to do with 3xosc last night.

Seriously. I got pretty close in about ten minutes.
Just set your oscillators to the same pitch, all sine (maybe throw a triangle on the second or third, it gets kind of too brittle if you're not careful) and fiddle with the volume envelope to get a mallet sound (zero attack, short sustain and a longish release). There's your basic struck instrument sound, you might need to add another channel to get the percussive sound of the bars dropping, but that wouldn't take much honestly.
A little EQ, maybe some FX (a slight chorus maybe?) and you've got a solid music box sound.
In the end if you really want that sound, go find a music box and record a bit of it and you can create some really solid samples and share them with us.

If you're going to use acronyms, you don't need to define them in every post you make.

OP: You can use Celeste sounds or Glockenspiel sounds for a music box feel.
