Sonic the Groundhog

What was so great about the Sonic games? I thought they got boring after like 2 levels. My favorite part of the game was when I lost all the rings and then fell into a hole and died. Then I could quit and do something that was actually fun. My favorite part is collecting the rings and running around randomly and doing the stuff you normally do in that game. Here's my question. What specifically do you think makes that game as amazing at it is?

I eluded to the fact that I had great dislike for the game and I got point loss. Apparently I am not allowed to have negative opinions about things. So, I put a positive spin on the same question hoping to achieve the same results... this time without point loss.

see I think a lot of ppl fell victim to that phenomenon. It was there... so it got played... I would imagine if they included "Pac-man 11: Pac-man's Revenge" with a new console system, people would play it. They would play it because it was there and it was free. Who cares if it's the same old game as it always was only this time with Pac-man sporting a graying beard, suffering from lack of funds due to overdue child support, and the ghosts walk around with canes and get easily confused because of early stage dementia.

your mistake wasn't in your opinion, it was in the title. Sonic is a hedgehog not a groundhog, despite the fact i hate him i still have to point that out.

What? Umm... I started with Sonic when I played Sonic Adventure 2 Batlle on Gamecube (I also played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on Genesis but that was a friends game much too long ago) and yet I still make more sense than most "Sonic fans" on here. Also it isn't Sega's fault, it's mostly Sonic Teams for milking the fuck out of him, but atleast now they are showing that they are trying, what with Sonic Unleashed being a good game and all.

By the way, I have played the old Sonic games, Including Sonic CD and Sonic 3D Blast. I've beaten most of them. They are awesome platformers and I love them, not as much as Mario, but you get the idea.

I like the game for the most obvious reason, it's Sonic! I liked all of his games except for the exceptionally stupid ones like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06. Unleashed was awesome and I loved Sonic and the Black Knight, for some reason Sonic holding a sword felt right. Secret Rings wasn't that bad, had a couple errors but Black Knight cleared most of those up. I'm not waiting on Sonic's second adventure, the one that DOESN'T involve him in a fucking car.

Yeah, Sonic being fast is the whole reason why I dont like it, there is so much to see in Sonic The Hedgehog, looks like there are so many more secrets than Mario, but you can never really explore the Sonic World because hes moving too damn fast!

I blame it on the fact that most people here arre new, look at this forum and read nothing but Sonic hate, so to avoid being beaten severly by those who dislike Sonic period, talk shit about the little marsupial even though they have no fucking clue what they are talking about, and haven't played the Sonic games that came before 06.
