Was a great movie. I saw it the minute it came out, and I'm ordering you all to watch it again, by yourself. No friends. And you'll notice, you'll remember the greatness of the movie. Every time you watch it, it seems like its better then the time you saw it before. The Simpsons are a great show that is very successful, so don't count on it dieing out soon.

About the movie, what do I do if I think It's retarded humor?
WELL JUST REALIZE ITS THE FUNNIEST THING THEY'VE DONE IN 5 YEARS
SO HAHA-FUCKING-HA

The simpsons need to stop worrying about graphics now, back when the jokes were hilarious and the graphics were shitty. Now it's the other way around.
Oh, and this is a little bit of a Simpsons-praise and a Simpsons-rant.

No matter what the Simpsons pulls off, I will always love them.

< Home, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie 3.

Also Moe, Barney, Burns, Smithers, Willy, Nelson, Milhouse, etc.

I agree. First time I saw it, I thought it was crap. Then I saw it again with a friend and it was brilliant. It was just too hyped up.

Uch a genius idea to make an extra long episode and call it a movie! Make a shit ton of money for something that wouldnt make a lot of money if you called an episode!

It was OK. Not terrible, but not exactly brilliant either.

I've lost interest in the Simpsons lately... I think it's because of the constant flood of celebrity cameos they have nowadays, and the fact that they do have quite strong christian morals in some episodes.

my respect for bart went waayyy down after that. His dick is so tiny! I always imagined in my dreams where hes plowing me that its this big muscular veiny hairy beast, but its a fucking yellow tube of chapstick!

I've been a Simpsons fan since... what, before you were born, speeling. And the Movie was like an average episode. It was OK, but there are plenty of episodes that are better.

Wow, didn't expect to see a Simpsons Movie thread... 2 years after the movie came out...

Anyway, I remember the mind-destroying anticipation I had while waiting several years for the movie came out, and when it finally did. I wasn't disappointed, I liked it, and so did all my friends. It may not have been the BEST movie, but for a show that had already been running for 17 years by that point, it was good. The Simpsons will always be known as a good show that has curiously run for... 20 years and more, so hearing all this crap like "THE SIMPSONS NEEDS TO DIE! FUCK YOU! FAMILY GUY'S BETTER!" etc etc... Is just redundant. THe show is in a better place than it was BEFORE the movie came out and I still look forward to (most) new episodes.

At least it ages much better than Family Guy has been, The Simpsons in Season 20, pretty decent, Family Guy in Season 7, JUST IDIOTIC, REPETITIVE SHIT! Come on really, not even to 150 episodes yet and the humor is staler than week-old bread. With The Simpsons about to reach 450 episodes and still being good enough to swallow, what does it say about Family Guy? I laughed at the idea of a Family Guy movie being in the works. Movies have to be TIMELESS, Family Guy just parodies everything popular at the time so, oh no! What will Family Guy do without its redundant pop-culture references for when it's time to make a movie, it will wither and DIE.

Also, remember how Family Guy was originally just a complete, unoriginal garbage heap of an idea based off of The Simpsons? The old episodes of Family Guy are standable, but jeeeeeez. Ok, I'm done.

It was a pretty good movie when I saw it, the show is alright but not too enjoyable. Now, for Family Guy, oh god...that show use to be funny and tolerable, now every episode is literally exactly the same, each character is so predictable and the show for me is getting unwatchable and more unfunny as it ages. Every show gets like that at some point, and south park is starting to get like that. King of the Hill got like that-the characters too predictable and the plots uninteresting, and thus it's canceled. I think the Simpsons has about 5 years left. Futurama's back though which I think is great as long as the characters don't get predictable and stale like Family Guy and starting to be South Park. Oh well.

I was surprised to learn that the guy who does the voice of Moe in The Simpsons is the same guy that plays the part of David in Friends.

I fully agree with this statement right here. Yeah that one, right above this statement. Yeah, cool. I think that, at least with South Park, they seem to be constantly trying to shift the dynamic because in recent seasons, you kind of don't know what's going on half the time.

I know they're really starting to gasp for air in the more recent episodes. They'd better have a good movie or something to catch their fans back or I think they don't have much longer. I mean, the Pirate episode...there was a few instances they tried to pitch a few jokes but they just failed. Like the fish coming out of the water and screaming? That was a Family Guy sort of joke...

not to get off topic too much, but I enjoyed that episode, and I don't recall a Family Guy joke like that. Maybe there is, I gave up on the show a while ago. South Park did have a pseudo-movie (originally planned for theaters), Imaginationland. It sounded like the worst idea ever but ended up being hilarious. Also, of course there was the movie from 1999, but they're overdue for a new one. They weren't even the same show pretty much, back then as they are right now. Their main schtick, which they're going to cling to, is being the only animated show on television who can rip on current events during the week it's happening. It's a good schtick though.

I think they're definitely over-due for a theatrical movie. Imaginationland was pretty good and I enjoyed it, it did have that epic movie feeling. The old South park vs. New...the old one was a little less raunchy than today, pretty much extremely crazy shit and fart jokes. Now they focus on more of mocking pop-culture and current events but I still find it enjoyable. The only thing I don't like about the south park now is that they've let go of some of their trademark characters and little cliches, such as Big Gay Al, Satan, Stan's Dog, Chef (Issac is dead in real life anyways though...), Kenny dying, Stan and Wendy, etc and so on. But enough about South Park and on to whatever the hell this thread is about.
