Ok so I just got this game cause everyone says its amazing.
I plop it in, give it a go, and for a while...it was amusing.
Then I find once you find megatown, It gets boring and dreadful asshit.
Your constantly running out of ammo. Just running all over the place looking for your dad, killing what ever random rationalized mutant thing you find.
It plops you in the middle of the game, with no guidance what so ever.
It has 3 songs and like 5 audio of Threedog talking, that play OVER AND OVER.
The rpg system is terrible. Like 123985926356 traits and another 34873264872364 skills. How the hell am I supposed to build a strategy from the begging of the game when I don't know what the fuck I'm doing?
It sucks.
Just unpleasant and boring.
Thats all this game is.

Get ammo from raiders and super mutants, turn your PiP-Boy radio off, and look up a strategy guide.

Oh kid, I am sorry I have to break it to you, but you just had an opinion. Don't say that a game is this or that, it will only steer hate.

There's a big diference between "This is this" and "I THINK this is this".

An when you type "Fails Miserably" only leads me to think you are a self-absorbed nitpicking prick who can't bring himself to enjoy a game.

Back in my land, I used to fight with stick for a fucking Tetris game, and learned to enjoy it.

He can also learn to not fail at marksmanship, and conserve ammunition, but all of these things are common sense, so I think he's a lost cause.

A strategy guide for an RPG is just boring!
I would but IM OUT OF AMMO SO I CANT KILL THEM.
And I turn my radio off, but it says I have to go see him so I'm afraid I'll miss some gay hint or something.

Yes, but you obviously need it.

Melee.

What, out of the five audio tracks of him?

Did I say it wasn't my opinion? I'm not going to say "I THINK" before every sentence, sence its obviously WHAT I think.

Jesus Christ, you sound like a fucking 11 year old who decides to give up Halo forever because someone got a cheap melee kill.

To actually run out of ammo and die a lot in a game like Fallout 3, you have to be the worst fucking gamer ever.

You didn't that why I bothered to reply, you wrote it as a fact. You just popped in and started rambling about a part of the game that bothered you, maybe you are playing it wrong.

Fallout 3 also sucked for me at first. Instead of going to Megaton initially, I went to the school, where I was killed by Raiders numerous times, then went to the Supermarket, where once again I was killed by lots of Raiders.

If I recall correctly, you don't even have to find Three Dog, though that does make the game a lot easier to navigate. Just look around the Capital Wastelands. You're aiming to go to Rivet City, the area located in the most south-eastern point on the map. That will bring you closer to your dad.

Raiders can be a bitch, especially if you assign everything to an attribute you rarely use. If you use small guns a lot (which you do in the beginning of the game especially), give like 7 points to agility. You'll have to start over, of course, but you're not that far in the game now anyway.

The game is very rewarding in the long run. Once you get the hang of things, it's very good fun.

Dude, I hear people complain about shortage of ammo too fucking much.

Try doing sidequests, or, gasp, not failing so much yourself.

Its simple. Go to the super duper mart. It'll be a nasty, knock down, drag out gunfight with a few raiders, but not impossible. You should have a small arsenal at the end. Be very stingy with ammo until you get to the hospital. Wipe out the super mutants there, and you should have plenty to last you, forever.

Conserve ammunition, and make sure to use V.A.T.S. It's the most accurate way of hitting an enemy from long range. Look at the percentage of a chance that you can hit an area too. If it's too low (below 25%) don't even bother. If you can't get a headshot on what you're aiming for, shoot the biggest target on it - the chest.

Look in all boxes an things for ammo, and repair weapons you have. To repair weapons, just find another of the same weapon - a second 10mm Pistol, for example. Go to the better one, and press Y (Triangle on PS3). Click the other 10mm Pistol. Repaired.

Also, it's an RPG game. Take it slowly, and level up intelligently. Don't go adding useless perks to your character - use only the decent perks, ones that you need. The skills have good names though - you can work out what each skill does. Read the info given about each skill, and decide if they're worthwhile.

The manual explains a lot about the game's skills too. Read it - it's big, but you'll know a lot more about the game. If all that fails, look on Google for 'Fallout Wiki'. The one on Wikia has an amazing amount of info.

The music isn't great in the game, if you don't enjoy that sort of music. If you're on 360, you can stream music from your PC to it. Put it on a low volume, and then you can play the game with whatever music you have. Alternatively, just turn the Pip-Boy's radio off.

Thats all this game is.

How the hell does that suck?

It's such a great game. Let me discuss pros and cons, I won't even involve spoilers.

Pros
-Awesome new battle system
-Ammo weighs nothing
-A canine friend is more interactive and can help with finding things
-Even more overall activity
-Oblivion styled gameplay
-More designs in the wastes
-Encounters and locations are scattered Everywhere.
-Old characters (from previous Fallout games meet up with you.)
-Perks gained after each level
-Game starts from the moment you're born
-Much more interactivity with children
-The Mesmer
-The President

Cons
-Less randomized encounters. In Fallout 2: on a random encounter, I met up with a group of knights led by King Arthur looking for a Holy Grail. They did not give me anything, and had nothing on their corpses when I killed them. They were simply put in the game for humor. There really is nothing like that in Fallout 3.
-No Child Killing. I'm gonna get a lot of, "You need to see a psychiatrist if you wanna kill children" posts against me, but, whatever. I killed a shop owner to get into his inventory, and a child caught me. I couldn't kill the kid so he ratted me out to the sheriff. Also, not to mention something that could possibly happen in Megaton that kills kids anyway.
-Discovering things is much, much harder. All you had to do in fallout 1 and 2 to get from one place to another was click where you wanted to go. walking on foot is very slow to compare.
-Took out the slaver tattoo concept. Not really a big deal, but there are slavers.
-Story progresses too easily. Same problem Oblivion had, the main quest was just too short. Previous Fallout games took much, much longer.

I think I've nailed pretty much everything.

I bought all 4 DLCs thus far, and looking to buy the 5th next month or early month after that.

The problem kid, is that you can't see a good game when you see it. You get overly worked up about some small things that the game has like not having enough ammo or getting lost or something, so you go on to forums so you can whine to others that they shouldn't buy the game because you feel like complaining that everything about life is horrible.
P.S. There's only a couple of skills and traits in Fallout 3, you just think there are lots. If your life was a game similar to Fallout, the player probably put all his beginning points into your aggression skill rather then your intelligence
