So I went to this site( place where i download mp3s ) for Queen songs. Once in, An Adobe PDF file tries to open. Strange? Pop-up says there is a failure in the command line. PDF tries to open again. Same thing happens.

I exit FireFox3.
My desktop backround turns to this

Fuck!!!

I turn off my computer, turn it on in safe mode. Get ClamWin Portable, scan my PC for a couple of hours. No viruses detected.

So, I went to my moms computer and search up this

It says that if I download "MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware" , I should follow the instructions to kill the virus.

Have any of you dudes or dudetts had this problem? Is this the best solution to this?
Help?

I suggest you call the company that sold you the computer before you go deleting files. You might be able to get it repaired if it's under warranty.

I'm going to fucking rape this guy.

All it did was change your desktop? Thats more of a minor annoyance than anything.

Damn, well it's not going to be easy for you to fix on your own. I mean you could probably spend hours googling what to do, but without any prior knowledge you might end up fucking your computer up even worse.

I guess you could call Best Buy / Geek Squad and see how much they charge to come out to your house. That'd probably be your best bet.

I'm going to fucking rape this guy.

It changed his desktop, and it will be doing a lot more sinister stuff behind the scenes as well. Sending out keywords he types in to advertisement companies, downloading more trojans, etc.

Also if he tries to manually change his desktop it will probably change itself back to the spyware message.

Ok OP, I recommend downloading that program you mentioned, and also get your hands on Avast! Antivirus, and Spyboy Search and Destroy.

Try the Malware bites program first, and if that doesnt work, I highly reccomend that you go to the link posted above. It is a forum where computer professionals help out people that are having issues with there computers. You'll get more accurate help there then you will on this forum.

I also forgot to mention that make sure to read the "before posting" sticky, and do NOT follow instructions for someone elses problems, even if they sound exactly the same as yours. The reason being that every computer is different, and you can damage your computer if you do something wrong. That is why I also gave you that link to go to the pros. If someone here gives you incorrect/bad advice, you can end up making your problems a lot worse.

oh, and that link for malwarebytes is no-good, the program is probably a virus itself too.
sometimes, when someone makes a virus he puts the help somewhere and says "download this virus scanner" altough, usually its a virus itself.
just run avast all the time and you'll be fine (even my sister didnt get any viruses in since I got avast, and she uses limewire!)

Sounds like a buffer overflow bug in the Adobe Acrobat Reader was exploited. I bet yours isn't up to date. That's something you'll want to make sure of in the end, however the turnout. I've seen this very thing happen before, and a system restore fixed it.

I can't believe the foolishness of some people x.x

First off, MalWareBits is not a virus, it is a malware remover, and a very well known one among software communities. Also, Avast is not a 100% cure for everything. If I remember correctly, there are many types of spyware and other little nasties that slip right under Avast's nose.

Dear OP, please go to the link I have provided you and ask there for help. Most (not all, no butthurt pls) of the people here have no clue what they are talking about, so the help you get here will be shoddy at best.

Also, of course a system restore will fix it, because they reset the computer to factory settings. But this is the last extreme you want to use, as you will lose everything, and you should only do this if there is nothing you can do.

System checkpoints dont always work, because these can easily be modified, blocked, or deleted by the virus/malware that is infecting your comp.

Use MalwreBytes, it'll work, I use that. If all else fails, delete system32 and take return it saying it broke when you reinstalled windows.

Yes. I fixed my computer, used my new anti-virus in safe-mode with networking. Killed the virus. It was in the system-32 folder it was disguised as some dll file.

Well, the virus is gone. I then checked with AVG, AVAST, and Spybot Search and Destroy.
Nothing.

At least I learned to always keep my programs updated...

You may think you are clever, but that's a fraud, I had the blackbird virus, and it made fake windows toolbar popups too. They only led to more virus websites with fake antivirus software on them.
