looking back at my 220 albums i collected over the past years. i came to the conclusion that Double Nickels On The Dime by the Minutemen is the best album, ever.

what's the best album ever released under your standards?

I can't really choose one, but a few album nominations I'd have are possibly the following:

Chromeo's Fancy Footwork: great fun electronica disco sound, and great stuff to just stick on and get your feet tapping.

Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon: obvious reasons - subtle references to the meaning behind the album, great sound, and just easy to relax to, imo.

Bloc Party's Intimacy: funky hardcore electro sound which you can dive into straight away if you enjoy a bit of industrial sound - can't really comment on the meanings behind the track listing or anything like that, though, as I'm usually carried away by the beats.

Flobots' Fight With Tools: best rap albvum I have as it explores American corruption and everything wrong with the country. The use of violins, horns, guitars and vocals are very effective, as well. It blows the rap stereotypes out of the water, too; definitely worth listening to.

As again, there are loads more, but those are just a handful of what I'd call great albums.

Read the reasons why I nominated it, would you? I think they did a good job. If you don't agree with me on it, then fair enough - to each their own.

Hard choice, one of these:
Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper (Great alternative album, really calming)
Blink-182 - Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (Just a great punk rock album)
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend (I love this album, it's so mellow and just one of those chillaxing albums you can listen to whenever)
Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold (Some of the best guitar riffs and solos are on this album)
From First to Last - Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Bodycount (Probably the best post-hardcore album I've ever heard. Period)

Revolver- Beatles
The Holy Bible- Manic Street Preachers
Appetite for Destruction- Guns n Roses
Twin Cinema-New Pornographers

All sorts of different sounds on that album, and all executed to perfection.

Aja by Steely Dan is one of my favourites, its a bit obscure in today's music world, considering it was made in 1977.

Fear of Music by the Talking Heads is another great album.

I also think, London Calling by the Clash, Led Zeppelin I, and Who's Next by The Who are also pretty good.

Maybe later.....

Bands put out 10 songs at once because they want you to listen to all 10 songs at once. Limewire is gay by the way, it's pornfilled.

My music collection really doesn't contain much of what most people would consider to be 'classic' or whatever, so I could only say what my favourite album of all time is, knowing that a lot of people would either disagree or would not have heard of it. However, I do think that The Beatles' White Album is definitely up there, which I'm sure we're mostly all familiar with.
